Bayer heads 4WD free practice in Slovakia

Having topped 2WD timed practice, Martin Bayer carried his form over to 4WD with the Xray driver heading the times after three rounds of free practice. Double winner at the Hudy Racing Arena last year, the former European Champion would record the fastest 3-consecutive laps in the second practice with Kyosho’s Naoto Matsukura closest, only 0.235 of a second off.  Although over 1.4 seconds off Bayer, reigning champion Joern Neumann would complete the Top 3, the German happy to be faster than his only title rival Lee Martin who ended up fourth.

Bayer tops timed 2WD practice at EOS finale

Martin Bayer has topped timed practice for 2WD at the EOS season final with last year’s Hudy Racing Arena winner setting the fastest 3-consecutive laps from Yokomo’s Lee Martin. Third fastest in free practice, the Xray driver improved by over a second to put himself top seed for qualifying with the morning’s pace setter Martin just 0.021 off.  Behind them, Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski would complete the Top 3 ahead of the Associated of former Top Qualifier Carson Wernimont.  For former champion Joern Neumann the two sessions would see the Serpent driver end up only 13th fastest two positions behind US star Ryan Cavalieri.

Martin sets early practice at EOS

Newly crowned Euro Offroad Series 2WD Champion Lee Martin has set the early pace at season finale at the Hudy Racing Arena. With the first official day of the event getting underway with three rounds of free practice, Martin’s Yokomo topped the times from the Kyosho of former team-mate & champion Naoto Matsukura. Winner of the Slovakian round last year, when the race was the third on the four round calendar, Team Xray’s Martin Bayer would post the third fastest 3-consecutive lap time.

Ressar & Lainemäe win at Estonian Buggy Nats Rd1

The first round of the Estonian 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at the Tallinn Festival Grounds in Tallinn. The annual grass race was run in the two classes of 1/8th Nitro Buggy and 1/8th E-Buggy and in the Nitro class it was Rainer Ressar who took the win from Hendrik Lainemäe in 2nd and Kuldar Ilus in 3rd.

4WD title showdown at EOS finale

Season #4 of the Euro Offroad Series reaches a climax this weekend in Slovakia with the Hudy Racing Arena playing host to the season finale where attention will focus on the 4WD title showdown. With Team Yokomo’s Lee Martin securing his first EOS title when he successfully defended the Japanese manufacturer’s 2WD crown at Round 3 in Austria, the British driver will this weekend attempt to do the double. The only driver to have ever done the double Joern Nuemann is his title rival, the now Serpent team driver having held reign of the 4WD class since the championship was first started in 2011. With the previous three rounds producing three different winners, on current form it is Martin, winner last time out who looks strongest as Neumann, a dominant force with Team Durango, still gets to terms with his new Serpent.

Schumacher Italy Day 2015 – Report

The Miniautodromo Cademandorli recently held the Schumacher Italy Day 2015 in the classes of Touring Car Modified, Touring Car Stock and Formula. The race attracted some of Italy’s fastest electric on-road drivers and in the Modified class it was Alessio Menicucci who came out successful in front of Daniel Baldissarri and Maurizio Busoli.

Xray Challenge Grand Final – Report

The Grand Final of the Xray Challenge was held on the outdoor track of the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. Good mood, fantastic atmosphere, nearly perfect weather conditions and great racing performances from the drivers made for a fantastic event that attracted both local racers and Xray’s international racing team. In the 1/8th Nitro class Tomas Krägefski won the race after a thrilling last lap when he was able to pass Tomas Liptak for the lead. Veteran racer Igor Liptak rounded out the podium in 3rd spot.

Bart Mullink wins at Dutch BL-Cup Rd2 & Rd3

The 2nd round of the Dutch BL-Cup was held in Hengelo at the Euregio track and it was Bart Mullink who won the race in front of Stefan Petrich in 2nd and Erik Wadners in 3rd place. For round 3 the drivers travelled to the RMCA circuit it Almelo. It was again Bart who pretty much dominated the field with Michael Thamm coming in 2nd place and Patrick Carels finishing 3rd. So far Bart has been the only person to make the podium at every round of this year’s BL-Cup, winning two rounds and coming in 2nd once, which makes him a hot candidate for the overall title.
