Matthew Olson joins Team Zombie USA

Team MIP team driver Matthew Olson, winner of most Pro4 Short Course races in the USA this past year has joined Team Zombie USA. Matt will be using their newest design 7200mah Rampire series which is made to provide 10 plus minutes of run time for all of the heavy 4wd Short Course trucks on the market. We are proud to Have Matthew joining the team. Olson had this to say:

Thank you so much Team Zombie and Felix Law for the opportunity to represent Zombie Batteries for 2013 and beyond. My first outing with Zombie packs was beyond outstanding at this years ShortCourse Showdown held at Holeshot raceway were I TQ’d and Won 4×4 Short Course over Trinity driver JR Mitch! The ultra powerful 7200mah 75c 2-Cell Zombie packs held up to the Florida humidity and 7 min A-Main event. The batteries never faded and had plenty of juice left, to even finish a 10 min main if needed. Thank you again Zombie Batteries for providing me the power to top the charts.

West London GP 2013 report

West London GP 2013 report

This past weekend was the West London GP 2013 sponsored by Schumacher Racing. With 88 Drivers competing at this event it was going to be a great weekend, the only thing that could have spoilt it was the great British Summertime weather. The weather forecast leading up to this event was very uncertain, with the possibility of heavy rain arriving over the weekend. On the Saturday morning all drivers arrived at the track and started setting up their pit area and gazebo, we noticed many sides being put on the gazebos due to the dark clouds looming above the circuit and also the strong winds that were present. Drivers briefing was called, which everyone attended and Pete Tims and Schumacher’s Mark Musgrove explained what the format was for the weekend and all the relevant information that the drivers would need. The race format to be used was 5 rounds of qualifying with the best 3 rounds to count, and then 3 leg finals for everybody with the best 2 final results counting towards the overall finishing position.

Bruno Coelho wins TC Rd3 in Portugal

Bruno Coelho wins TC Rd3 in Portugal

Last weekend the third round of Portuguese Nationals took place in Torres Novas village at the track where the European TC Championship will be held later this summer. The temperatures where high all weekend and drivers got perfect conditions to compete and also practice and prepare for the upcoming Euros. There were 15 drivers in modified class and 8 in stock class. The practice runs showed that Bruno Coelho was the man to beat closely followed by, and always beating back the challenges of, his teammate Helder Silva. Pedro Moura unfortunately experienced some technical problems and was not able to keep up with them, however he still made it to the A main. During the finals Bruno and Helder again made it a superb race to watch for all spectators fighting for the top spot in the first final. In the second and third final run Bruno made a quick clean start and making use of the fight between Helder and last year’s champion Hugo Miguel was able to stretch his lead until the finish line.

Koudelka & Novotny wins 2nd Olomouc Cup race

Koudelka & Novotny wins 2nd Olomouc Cup race

The 2nd round of Olomouc cup took place last Saturday and Kaja Novotny gave this report. “Again it was a rainy morning and the start of the race was delayed. Practice was possible but nearly nobody wanted to drive their car on the wet astroturf, so my first qualification was my first drive on the track. After qualifications in 4wd I took TQ with a 2-1-1 while in 2wd, with issues with my speed controller, finished sixth with a 3-2-5. TQ in 2wd went to local driver Tomas Koudelka with his DEX210. For the 2WD finals we did some changes, put some weights on the rear and finished second overall with a 3-2-2. Tomas Koudelka didn’t give anybody a chance and won all three finals with the new RDRP +11mm chassis. In 4wd I finished first in all three finals with Marek Schiller (DEX410) second and Tomas Koudelka (DEX410) third overall on the podium.
