Elliott Boots wins washed away BRCA Buggy Rd4

Elliott Boots wins washed away BRCA Buggy Rd4

Round four of the BRCA 1/8th Nitro Buggy Nationals was held at the Herts Nitro Model Club this past weekend. Unfortunately the British weather played havoc this weekend with over 80mm of rain on Friday into Saturday. The HNMC cleared the track at 6am Saturday morning and the first round of qualifying was damp and it even turned into a dry track by round 2. At the end rounds 1 and 2 were TQed by Boots, round 3 was a tie between Boots and Cragg, round 4 went to Darren Bloomfield and round 5 to Kevin Brunsden. There was uncertainty about the weather on Sunday morning and rain set in at about 10:30 am but as it became heavier the event was stopped and after a delay the event was taken on qualifying handing Elliot Boots the win from 2nd placed Darren Bloomfield and Jack Embling in 3rd.

The 2WD class was run on Saturday and just in time for the practice heats rain started to fall. After the four qualifiers local driver Niclas Mansson (Team Associated) took the TQ from young Malin Karlsen (Xray). In the triple A-mains Niclas would win A1 and A2 to grab the overall win early while Malin took the win in A3 to snatch the runner-up spot. Speed King Tour Rd4 – Report

Speed King Tour Rd4 – Report

The fourth round of the Speed King Tour 2015 was hosted by the Green Park Speedway in the Saitama prefecture last weekend. The track is a high-speed affair that is usually used for 1/8th races so the speeds achieved in the Modified class were pretty high. Series leader Akio Sobue again showed a brilliant form after scoring three wins in the series this year and he went on to take the TQ in this fourth round. Unfortunately only two qualifying rounds would be completed due to sudden and heavy rain fall but with the help of all competitors the track could be dried in time for the mains.
