Kerswell takes BRCA 19T win at Rd5

Kerswell takes BRCA 19T win at Rd5

While the modified and 27T guys were racing in London, the 19T Super Stock racers were in Wrexham for the 5th round of their championships, so far dominated by Corally racer Chris Kerswell. This event would be no exception with Kerswell taking the pole position for the race ahead of Schumacher racer, and round 4 winner, Dewi Jones in 2nd and another Corally racer Christopher Delves in 3rd. In the finals it was Kerswell that took the leg 1 win ahead of Jones, with Daniel Fallows, racing a Schumacher, in 3rd. The top 3 drivers were the same for the 2nd leg but the top 2 order was reversed, with Jones taking the win and Kerswell 2nd, a tie break needed to seperate the two with Kerswell taking the overall win and with it this years title. Local racer Jones came home in 2nd while Fallows, with a consistent run in both legs, rounded off the podium in 3rd.

Shin Adachi to attend this weeks Euros

Shin Adachi to attend this weeks Euros

Kyosho have confirmed to us that their top Japanese Factory racer, and the man behind the TF-5 Stallion Shin edition, Shinosuke Adachi will be present at this weeks European Electric Touring car Championships being held in Montbrison, France to provide support to all Kyosho racers at the event. This marks the first time that Kyosho will sponsor and provide support at an electric event in Europe since the Japanese brand re entered the EP market with the Lazer ZX5 buggy back in 2005. Kyosho have seen a huge push towards electric classes lately with the introduction of their TF-5 chassis back in 2006 and the release of the Ultima RB5 2wd buggy earlier this year as well as changes within the company that have seen the hiring of Gil Losi Jr in March and the acquisition of Team Orion in May. The smiling man you see in the picture above is just the first step in a larger move towards World domination by Kyosho as already witnessed in the 1/8th scale buggy class since the late 90’s and the gas on road class in the last 6 years.

RC Pro East Series Rd2 – Race Report

RC Pro East Series Rd2

CEN team driver Gene ‘The Machine’ Hickersen has been in touch and provided us with a report from the 2nd round of the RC Pro East series which was held last weekend at Lake Park in Tampa, Florida.

Drivers came down to sunny FL from as far as North Carolina to compete for the East Coat RC Pro Championship. There was around 145 entries even with a 60% chance of rain. Friday was open practice on the fast and technical layout. JR Mitch was spotted driving his Team Associated RC8 for the 1st time since the ROAR Nationals last month. I drove really bad at the Nationals, as 63rd was by far the worst I have ever done at a National race in my 21 year racing career, so I was thinking about making changes to my car to find some extra speed to get back on pace.

Lamberto Collari is European Champion

Lamberto Collari is European Champion

7-time World Champion Lamberto Collari is the 2007 1/8th scale European Champion following a tense battle in todays finals in Lostallo, Switzerland. Qualifying had seen former European Champion Michael Salven on the pole position and a good start in the race saw him in contention for the win ahead of the following pack of Italians, but 2 lengthy stops caused by the throttle linkage ball joint coming off twice meant he was out of contention. This allowed the Italian steam train out in front with an extremely close battle playing out between Collari, who wouldn’t stop for tires, and Alberto Picco right up until the end of the 45 minutes with Collari, driving a Kyosho, taking the win by less than a second ahead of a closing Alberto Picco with the Mugen, while Kyosho racer Francesco Tironi rounded out the podium in 3rd.
