Alonso & Moreno win at Spanish EP On-road Champs Rd2

Round 2 of the Spanish Electric On-road Championship was held at the Barakaldo track last weekend in Touring Modified, Pro Stock and Formula classes. In Touring Modified it was Awesomatix’s Javier Alonso with the overall TQ from the Xray duo of Carles Echarri and Alejandro Martinez in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Javier then went on to win the A-mains 1 and 2 for an early overall victory from Carles in 2nd and Alejandro in 3rd.

Shepparton Radio Control Car Club Showdown – Report

The 1st Showdown was held at Shepparton Radio Control Car Club the newest event to join the prestigious Victorian Drivers Series in Australia. With National and State Champions in attendance in the event was super competitive and well received. Starting on Saturday with a well prepared dirt/clay track a groove formed quickly during practice, however with a unfamiliar track and a un-abrasive surface tyre choice was a challenge for racers on the deceptively technical layout. With qualifying starting Saturday then finishing Sunday morning, the event was unfortunately cut short during the second round of finals due to rain, it was enough racing to get a result and competitors were more then happy with the event as a whole.

Enzo Albertoni wins at Summer Off-road Invitational

The 1st annual Summer Off-road Invitational was held at the Xtreme Race Park track in Puerto Rico last weekend. Jay Drakeford would take the overall TQ in the Nitro Buggy class, however in the 45-minute A-main event it was 3rd place qualifier, Enzo Albertoni with the overall win some 3.1 seconds in front of Jay with whom he had some very entertaining battles throughout the main, unfortunately Jay suffered a blown tyre in the closing stages which hampered his buggy’s performance. Runner-up after the qualifiers, Jose Colon would round out the top 3 result some four laps down.

BRCA Touring Car Nationals Rd3 – Report

The 3rd round of the BRCA Touring Car Series headed to the Monaco of UK tracks, Bedworth this last weekend. In the Modified class Schumacher’s Olly Jefferies lined up on pole on the grid after qualifying ahead of Xray’s Elliott Harper and an excellent Andy Murray (Schumacher). In both legs of the finals Olly managed to sufficiently keep Elliott at bay winning both legs. This secures a back to back victory at this round and the previous one Halifax, leaving Olly in a strong position for the British Championship. Andy maintained his grid position from qualifying to grab a podium, his best touring car national result.

Vogl & Riedmann win at Austrian EP On-road Nats Rd3

Round 3 of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held at the MAC Mistelbach track last weekend. In the premier Touring Modified class it was Dominic Vogl (Awesomatix) with the overall TQ after a clean sweep in the qualifiers and he would also come out on top after the triple A-mains, however he was hotly contested by Xray’s Patrick Gollner who took the win in A2 to seal his overall runner-up spot. Helmut Frauenschuh came in 3rd to round out the podium in front of Toni Eder.

Südhoff & Mächler win at TOS North Division Rd6

Round 6 of the Tonisport Onroad Series North Division was held at the RCCT Münden track in Hannoversch Münden, Germany this past weekend. The race also was the warm-up event to the German Electric On-road Nationals that will be held at the same track later this Summer and in the premier Touring Modified class it was Awesomatix’s Freddy Südhoff with the overall TQ, tie on points with Yokomo’s Ronald Völker. A1 and A2 then saw Freddy taking the wins for an early overall victory as Ronald cemented his overall runner-up spot with a win in A3. Sören Sparbier came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Dutch EP On-road Nats Rd4 win for Florian Joos

The fourth round of the Dutch Electric On-road Nationals was held at the fast and flowing track of the MAC De Baanbrekers club in Rucphen. Saturday was open for free practice, and it was clear right from the start that the race would be a battle between the Awesomatix cars of current championship leader Sidney Blokker, Thomas Buijze and Govert Verbeke and the Xrays of Rick Van den Akker and Florian Joos. Probably thanks to the IFMAR 2020 Worlds, that will be held at MACH Heemstede, the Touring Modified class saw a healthy 14-cars entry. As he is not a regular Dutch nationals participant, Florian Joos had to start in the first of the groups while the title protagonists were seeded in the second and faster group.

Yusuke Sugiura takes double JMRCA EP Buggy title

The RC Park Gojo track in Nara, Japan hosted the JMRCA Japan 1/10th Buggy Nationals this past weekend. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class it was Yokomo’s Yusuke Sugiura with the overall title from Kyosho’s Kota Akimoto on the runner-up spot. Yokomo’s Kaito Kodera came in 3rd to round out the podium. Over in 4WD Modified Buggy it was again Yusuke Sugiura with the overall win as Xray driver Kouki Kato came in 2nd while Kaito Kodera scored another 3rd place finish.
