Ryan Cavalieri dominates ROAR EP Offroad Nationals

Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri has dominated the 2015 ROAR 1:10 Electric Off-Road Nationals held at Hobbytown/SRS in Phoenix Arizona. Taking the TQ in all four modified classes, the 4-time IFMAR World Champion was locked in to the zone through Friday and Saturday’s qualifying, taking the top spot in all 4 modified classes. With 12 A Mains scheduled in the four classes, Cavalieri only needed eight of them to sew up the four National Championships and so sweeping both A1 and A2 main events in all insured that Ryan Cavalieri would be crowned champion before any of the other finishing positions were settled. Team Associated would take a fifth title at the weekend with privateer Alan Wright winning Racing Truck 17.5 with his T5M.

Roland Strom wins Swedish 1/8 gas onroad champs

This past weekend MHF-u Skarpnäck organised the Swedish championship at their newly repaved Flatenbanan in Stockholm. The event saw racing in 1/10 Nitro touring, electric touring and 1/8 gas Track. An unusually sunny and warm weekend made for great atmosphere and really good track conditions for everyone participating. The new asphalt gave good traction and the builders had succeeded with a silky-smooth track with no bumps whatsoever – and it was also very nice to look at. In the 1/8 Track class it was Mattias Ericsson who got the TQ with his Mugen. It was obvious that fuel consumption was very tight over the five minute qualifiers with some participants being forced to refuel at around the four minute mark. Roland Strom, Running a Serpent/Max combo, was among the few to manage the whole five minutes on a single tank of fuel which gave him the third starting position in the A-main behind Mattias Ericsson and Marcus Lindner.
