Dominic Bauer takes Austrian Nitro Buggy title

The A-Team Graz club played host to the final round of the Austrian Nitro Off-road championship this past weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class, that was rain affected at times, it was Jürgen Trieb with the overall TQ, tie on points with Martin Seethaler who had to settle for 2nd after the tie-breaker. In the 45-minute A-main event, it was semifinal winner, Dominic Bauer, who would take the win after leading from tone-to-tone, with the victory also handing Dominic the overall Austrian Nitro Buggy title. Jürgen Trieb would end the main final in 2nd, a lap down as Patrick Schweinzer came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Leo Arnold takes French 200mm Nitro Touring title

The final round of the French IC Track Nationals was held at the Automodelisme Club de Tours track this past weekend. In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class it was Xray’s Leo Arnold with the overall TQ and he would also come out on top in the A-main, making it a perfect sweep this season with four TQs and four wins which would ultimately hand him the national championship title. Capricorn’s Kevin Rasquin came in 2nd at the fifth and final round as Xray’s Michael Derderian came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Renaud Savoya wins challenging French Buggy Nats Rd4

Round 4 of the French Nitro Buggy Nationals was held this past weekend at the CMLP track in Le Pin. Vincent Meertens took the overall TQ from Renaud Savoya, however in the 45-minute main final, that was held under rainy weather conditions, it was TLR’s Renaud Savoya who would bring home the win in front of TLR teammate, Jordan Lot as Kyosho’s Rayan Medjoubi came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Daan Haling takes 2019 BeNeLux 1/8 IC title

This year’s BeNeLux race took place in Genk, Belgium under very nice weather conditions. In the popular 1/8th IC class Daan Haling took the pole with only 0.1 seconds difference after 4 minutes to Yves Zoma in 2nd position. Renaud Velkeneers took the 3rd spot on the starting grid. In the final, Yves Zoma (Mugen) had some bad luck at the start which cost him about seven seconds, allowing Daan Haling (Capricorn) some room to open a gap on the field. 30 minutes and many pit stops later, Yves had only reduced the gap by one second so Daan would finish in 1st position with a 6-seconds lead on Yves. Clive Connolly (ARC) took 3rd a lap down.

2020 Silver State Indoor Worlds – Announcement

The team at The Dirt Racing has announced the 2020 Silver State Indoor World Championship will take place from May 14th to 17th at the South Point Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The venue will be hosting the event for the third year and the organisers have some awesome plans to make it a great event. The schedule will be the same as the first year with Thursday practice, Friday and Saturday qualifying with some lower mains on Saturday night and remaining mains on Sunday. The arena is packed for the season and the only move in and set up dates available require the The Dirt team to follow this format. Mihelic & Wendy take Austrian 1/8th On-road titles

The final round of the Austrian IC Track championship was held at the very fast Sollenau track recently. In 1/8th Nitro On-road it was Xray’s Nejc Mihelic with the overall TQ followed by Superpole winner, Gerhard Kandelhart (Shepherd). In the main final it was Nejc who would bring home the win flag to flag with Alain Levy (Shepherd) coming in 2nd from Gerhard Kandelhart in 3rd. Overall in the championship it was also Nejc who would bring home the title, taking four of the four rounds with Alain and Gerhard completing the overall top 3. In the 1/8th Electric class it was Patrick Wendy with the overall title after winning three rounds of the championship for the maximum points score.

MOD/TLR 5th scale Championship – Report

The 2019 MOD/TLR 5th scale Championship series recently concluded after visiting a total of six separate tracks across the West Coast. Hosting tracks were Socal Nitro Raceway, Fear Farm, Delta RC, Good Ol Boys, CVR 2.0, and Wild West Raceway with the series not only spreading the awareness of 5th scale racing but also drawing in racers from all the regions to be able to experience different conditions, different layouts, and different challenges. In its first year the championship brought in a lot of new racers as well as helped improve each region’s knowledge of 5th scale in order to help cultivate club racing at a local level and help promote the hobby for the better. In 4WD Pro Buggy it was David John Orner, running a Matt Olson loaner car, with the overall championship in his maiden large scale season. Chris Higa and ADI’s own Josh Alton came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Thurston & Paton win at BRCA 1/8th Circuit finale

The final round of the BRCA 1/8th Circuit Series took place at the Wombwell Circuit near Barnsley with damp weather conditions. Alex Thurston had a great debut for his new chassis sponsors Capricorn, taking the TQ and win in the nitro class from Mugen drivers Andy Hastings and Sam Snell. In the Electric class again Capricorn dominated as Jamie Paton took the win from Rob Scott and 3rd was Shepherd driver Robert Stevenson.
