Atsushi Hara appointed Neidhart Asian sales manager

Neidhart has announced the signing of 2-times IFMAR World Champion, Atsushi Hara as their Asian sales manager. Hara, who won the 2008 1/8th scale Off-Road IFMAR World Championship title with the Neidhart brand HB Racing, will now take over the position as sales manager for Asia. As such, he will be responsible for the sale of all Neidhart brands in the Asian market. Interested dealers and distributors can reach Hara at atsushi@neidhart.com. Besides his job as sales manager Asia, he will also be involved in the development of new vehicles and electronics for the HB Racing, Team Orion and Performa Racing brands while also attending select local and international events. Atsushi has the following to say about the deal:

I would like to say thanks so much to Mr. Philippe Neidhart, Oscar Jansen and Adrien Bertin for giving me this great opportunity. Also, I am very happy to come back to HB Racing as my “Home.” When I left HB Racing in 2013, I didn’t think I could come back. But now I am back with the Neidhart SA family so I have big motivation, and I’m looking forward to the future of our RC industry.

BRCA 1/8th Circuit Nationals Rd6 – Report

Round 6 of the BRCA 1/8th Circuit Nationals was held at Mendip RC Raceway this weekend. 32 drivers were in attendance in nitro and 7 had booked in electric. The track was nicely prepared and sprayed to ensure grip would be good and consistent. The track was still dusty for practice on Saturday morning but the grip quickly came up under the Somerset sun. It was all about getting good lines and watching tyre wear, which would prove to be a bit of an issue on race day. Sunday started as usual with the drivers’ briefing, during which a minute silence was observed in memory of Dave Waters, former BRCA Chairman, who recently passed away.

Cole Ogden sweeps Big Apple Hot Race Challenge

The inaugural Big Apple Hot Race Challenge was held at Barnstormers Raceway in Chester, New York this past weekend, attracting 200 entries for the 1/8th nitro and electric classes. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Cole Ogden with the TQ and win, leaving behind 4th place qualifier, Jason Schreffler in 2nd some two laps down. Runner-up after the qualifiers, Jamie Grayek came in 3rd to round out the podium as Anthony Mazzara and Aaron Kothman completed the top 5 results.

Rico Kröber takes North German 200mm title

Round 4 of the North German IC Track regionals was held at the MC Munster club this past weekend. In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class it Rico Kröber (Shepherd) with the overall TQ and he would also come out on top in the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Tim Benson on the runner-up spot a lap down. Xray driver, Henrik Eilers came in 3rd to round out the podium. With the TQ and win, Rico secured himself his third consecutive regional title.

Dutch IC Track Nationals Rd4 – Report

The fourth round of this year’s Dutch IC Track Nationals was held at the MACH track in Heemstede this past weekend. In the premier 1/8th NK class it was Jesse Keller with the overall TQ some 1.2s in front of John Ermen as Joey Sorber came in 3rd, another five seconds behind. In the opening lap of the half-hour long A-main John would get past the leader only five corners after the start and from there he never looked back to take the win with his ARC car a lap in front of Serpent’s own Michael Salven. Shepherd racer Jesse Keller came in 3rd, another lap down, to round out the podium from Joey Sorber in 4th and Martin Zevenhoven in 5th.

Cody King wins at JBRL Nitro Series Rd4

Round 4 of the JBRL Nitro Series was held at the Pro-Line Raceway in Banning, California this past weekend. In the premier Expert Nitro Buggy class it was Mugen’s Adam Drake with the overall TQ, however in the 25-minute A-main event it was Kyosho’s Cody King with a popular win, a lap in front of Adam on the runner-up spot. Xray’s Jake Mayo came in 3rd some 7.5s behind Adam while Cole Jenson and Carlos Arredondo came in 4th and 5th respectively.

Shin Adachi wins Indonesia Challenge

The 2019 Indonesia Challenge was held at the Forluck RC track in Pontianak, Indonesia this past weekend. The race attracted local racers as well as guests from abroad and it was Mugen’s Shin Adachi from Japan who led the 53-driver field at the end of the qualifying, winning three of the five rounds. Another Mugen driver, Kenji Tsuruta came in 2nd after the qualifier. The hour-long A-main final then again saw Shin Adachi leading the way by taking the win with a 1-lap margin from Xray’s Jason Nugroho. Mugen’s Adrian Wicaksono came in 3rd to round out the top 3 podium result from SWorkz’s Ryan Lee in 4th and Mugen’s Kenji Osaka in 5th.

BRCA Truggy & E8 Buggy Nationals Rd4 – Report

The East Shrewsbury club recently held round 4 of the 2019 BRCA Truggy & E8 Buggy Nationals. 44 drivers made the trip to the Shrewbury track and the day started off chilly but dry which is the most important thing. After the drivers briefing the organisers cracked on with the two round of timed practice, and with only four heats a round the race director started each round on the hour to keep things simple. After practice things went on with the qualifying portion of the day, three rounds of which with the best two to count. The track was very bumping and was proving a big challenge for a lot of drivers. In the end it was Matt Lewis, who drives for Team Associated, take the TQ with his Truggy, Tekno driver Mitchell Booth took 2nd overall, Matt’s team mate with Associated Jon Howells took 3rd place overall. In E-Buggy it was Matt’s brother Mike Lewis take the TQ with his Associated car. Tekno driver Mitchell Booth took 2nd place overall and finally Simon Reeves took 3rd overall.
