Dominic Greiner has TQ’d the opening round of 1:10 qualifying at the Infinity Euro Nitro Series in Austria.  With qualifying originally scheduled to get underway yesterday evening before rain forced the cancellation of the second half of the day, Greiner picked up where he left off.  Fastest in free practice yesterday, those times determining the seeding after this morning’s planned controlled practice were made into untimed practice as the track proved much slower following the rain, Greiner took the first of the four qualifiers by a second over a much improved Jilles Groskamp.  Francesco Tironi would post the third fastest time followed by Alessio Mazzeo and Eric Dankel, the latter two both suffering early mistakes at the start of the 4-minutes.

2018 Alabama Manufacturer Shootout – Report

The 2018 Alabama Manufacturer Shootout is always a highly anticipated race known for its awesome reddish clay surface, technical track layouts, and fun atmosphere. Located in Cullman, Alabama, the AMS is now in its 9th year and organized by RaceTime Entertainment, who hosts some of the biggest nitro races on US soil like PNB and Wicked Weekend. The layout was extremely fun. There was a lot of challenging elements including a cross-over to quad jump that was extremely difficult with a capital E. The step-up jumps were perfect and required precision throttle control to not overshoot. The double drop downs to chicane added fitness and accuracy that made for a wonderful challenge. Overall, the layout was unique and definitely fun. For those who like challenge and difficult tracks, this one was definitely for you.

David Loppini wins Italian 200mm Nats Rd2

The 2nd round of Italian Championship was held at the Mini Autodromo Fiorano track last weekend. In the 200mm Nitro Touring class it was David Loppini (Xray) with the TQ. For the final David went for a super aggressive strategy as he was the only one to go for a full tyre change, starting with qualfying tyres. After a few minutes a little touch with Francesco Tironi resulted in a stop & go penalty but after few laps David was back in the lead again. Running in qualifying mode with a super fast pace David was confident to recover after the tyre change and after a super tight battle in the final minutes he finally saw the chequered flag in the 1st position as Francesco Tironi (Infinity) came in 2nd and Salvatore Gilberto (Capricorn) ended the race on the 3 spot.
