Robson White wins at Winter Series Rd4

Round 4 of the Winter Series was held at NDOR in Nottingham recently. The track is a full blown astro turf with big jumps, fast flowing rhythm sections and the added bonus of the new section with the drop off, which was added for last year’s national meeting. Robson White was off to a good start and managed to take TQ in round one and he also managed to TQ the final rounds, putting a strong 11 lapper in round 3 to show a dominant performance. The temperature was dropping even more as the finals approached but Robson decided to keep all the car settings and oils the same for the final. The start of the A-final would be clean which allowed Robson to get a way and start to pull a slight lead, the first few laps were a bit hectic as the drivers tried to get a good position, but Robson managed to get into the grove pretty quick and start to increase his lead over the chasing pack. There were a few issues with back markers throughout the 20-minute final but all in all it was great clean race. Robson chose to do two fuel stops as he was still running a new engine in, this did not impact the race as he went on to take the A-final win. Joining the young man in the A final, also with their RC8B3.1’s were Julian Jessop and Michael Isaacs. Both drivers also made the podium, making it a Team Associated podium lockout.

Gene Hickerson wins at 2017 FORCE Series finale

The 2017 FORCE Series finals of the eight-round series was held this past weekend at Mills Pond in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The final round was postponed due to the hurricane that went straight up the center of Florida last Fall. Mills Pond is one of if not the Most Southern track in the USA, so the weather was nice and warm all weekend long in the winter month of February. The track was treated with calcium chloride and sugar to try to keep the dust down and increase traction levels. Unfortunately the Florida sun won again and it became a dust bowl with huge ruts and bumps and cupped out jump faces, making the very simple tight layout into a real challenge due to the super high grip and sandy rutted track. 160 entries signed up to battle in the 3 -day long event.
