Adam Drake doubles at Christmas Gifts for Kids Race

Revelation Raceway of Ontario, California hosted the Christmas Gifts for Kids Race this past weekend. The weather prior to the event was cold and rainy, but Dana Smelter of Revelation Raceway wasn’t going to let that stop the event from happening and so the event had nearly 100 entries. Adam Drake was the man to beat in both the Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truck finals. In the 30-minute Buggy final Drake got off to a bad start and was nearly a half a lap down to the early race leader Cody King. Drake put in consistent laps and slowly worked his way to the front. Once Drake got into the lead he didn’t look back and won by a comfortable margin over Cody King and Colin Herzig. Drake also TQ’ed and won the Nitro Truck class by a large margin.

Contact announce 2017 factory drivers

Contact have announced their 2017 factory driver line up. Beside long established Robert Pietsch, who is in his seventh season and reigning 1/8th World Champion, Simon Kurzbuch, next year’s team will also see Germany’s up and coming Toni Gruber, who has shown some impressive results lately, including an overall 4th place at the 2016 Guan Kou Sunpadow GP in China.

Robert Batlle doubles at Barcelona Purple Race

The Barcelona Purple Race was held at the RBR36 Arena in Barcelona this past weekend. Home track of Mugen’s Robert Batlle the event attracted some of Spain’s fastest off-road drivers as well as guests from abroad. In the 30-minutes Nitro Buggy A-main Robert would make maximum use of his track knowledge by bringing home the win from Joan Carlos Canas in second and Joao Figueiredo in third. Elsewhere in the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was again Robert who came out fastest after the A-main.

Nicholas Lee teams up with Arrowmax

Arrowmax have announced the addition of Singapore’s Nicholas Lee to their team. The 2016 IFMAR Electric Touring A-main finalist will use the company’s range of tools and accessories including Arrowmax’s set-up system and he has the following to say about the deal:

I really like the range of tools made by Arrowmax. They are really stylish and I am glad to be part of the team.

Mirko Salemi joins BMT 1/8th team

Following the signing of Mattia Collavo to their 1/10th team, BMT have announced the addition of swift Mirko Salemi to their 1/8th scale team. Mirko will campaign the company’s BMT984 Evo in 2017 at all major events such as the national championship, EFRA GP, the IFMAR Worlds and the ENS.

Mattia Collavo teams up with BMT 200mm team

Italian brand BMT have announced the signing of Mattia Collavo to their 1/10th 200mm team. 30-years old Mattia will pilot the company’s BMT701 1/10th nitro on-road kit at all major national events while running ARC cars as part of the ARC Nitro Italy team in the 1/8th nitro on-road class.

Euro Contest 2017 – Announcement

The 2017 Euro Contest will be held from the 16th to 18th of June at the Barco-Off track in Italy. Considered to be one of the largest nitro off-road races in Europe, with 270 entries in 2016, the race will again be held in the three categories of Pro Nitro Buggy, Open Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy. Nicolas Lee joins Protoform factory team

Protoform have announced the addition of 2016 ISTC World Finalist Nicholas Lee to their factory racing team. Nicholas’ track record across many different platforms of on-road racing makes him an ideal fit and Protoform look forward to having him represent the team in Asia and across the international racing scene at electric touring, nitro touring and 1/8 nitro events.
