Lemieux & Swauger win at ROAR Fuel On-road Nationals

The 2015 ROAR Nitro On road Nationals was held at Full Throttle Raceway in Kissimmee Florida in the ROAR classes of 1/10 Touring Car and 1/8 Open as well as the two exhibition classes of 1/8 Masters and 1/8 GT. In 1/10th Touring Car the qualifying saw DJ Apolaro on top of the timing sheets in front of Mike Swauger and Paolo Morganti. The top 4 would be rounded out by Paul Lemieux. In 1/8th Open Paolo Morganti took the TQ from DJ Apolaro and Mike Swauger. Vincent Jackson came in 4th. The top 4 would qualified directly to the main finals while the others had to go through the semifinals to proceed to the hour long A-mains.

Andreas Thrasyvoulou wins at Star Championship Rd3

The third round of the Cyprus Star Nitro Buggy Championship was held at the AG Metal Track in Limassol in perfect weather conditions. Young Xray driver Andreas Thrasyvoulou was able to take the TQ after the qualifiers and he then went on to win the main final also. Sotiris Taifas (JQProducts) came in 2nd, Simos Tikkis (Kyosho) rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Nacho Lopez wins at Spanish Nitro On-road Nats Rd2

The second round of the Spanish Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the Asoger Club near Madrid in the classes of 1/8th and 1/10th 200mm. In the 200mm class Nacho Lopez (Serpent) took the overall TQ in front of team mate Victor Palaez after winning four of the five qualifiers. Despite his car feeling not as good in the direct qualifiers practice as in the qualifiers he easily won the main final thanks to some last minute adjustments and a perfect, mistake-free run and swift refuelling. Runner up in the 30-minute final was Adrian Ortiz (Shepherd) in front of 3rd placed Jose Miguel Blanco (Shepherd).

Gruber wins at German IC Track East division regionals

The second round of the German East division nitro on-road regionals was held in Leipzig. In 1/8th scale class 1 Serpent’s Toni Gruber took the win after coming from 4th on the grid. Toni soon was able to move his way up the field and eventually took over the lead after a mistake of the front runner. Mugen’s Torsten Müller came in 2nd while Rico Kröber (Capricorn) rounded out the podium of the fastest 1/8th class.

Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road National Championship was held last weekend at the Real 80 track in Groningen in the North of the Netherlands. The weekend started with free practice on Friday which resumed on Saturday but unfortunately changing weather conditions with some very light rain made for difficult track conditions and a lot of uncertainties in terms of the setup. However on Sunday the weather changed to the better and the race would start as planned. In the 30-minute final of the premier NK class Martin Zevenhoven (Serpent) came out successful from Ad Vissenberg (ARC) and Marcel Schouten who rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Ben has been into RC Racing for 14 years now and therefore his experience is one of his greatest assets, paired with his driving abilities that make him one of the fastest drivers in Australia. Simon Kurzbuch wins at Swiss On-road Nats Rd2

Last weekend the second round of the Swiss Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the Aigle track. In 1/8th scale, right from the start on Saturday morning Simon Kurzbuch clocked some good laptimes making him one of the favourites of the weekend. After changing to bi-compound tyres he improved his laptimes even more what resulted in a domination over the whole weekend. In the first qualifier Simon posted the fastest time with an 8 seconds gap to the 2nd placed driver and by doing so, he also set a new lap record of 17.358 seconds. After also winning the third and fourth qualifier Simon started from the 1 spot into the 20 minute semi-final where he again set the fastest time which secured him the pole position for the 45 minute main final in front of Shasa Lackner and Silvio Hächler. Continuing his dominant performance in the main Simon drove a flawless race and he crossed the finish line more than one lap in front of Silvio Hächler, with 3rd placed Christophe Pethoud being another 2 laps down.

Adam Drake sweeps JBRL Nitro Series Rd2

Palm Desert RC Raceway hosted round two of the popular JBRL Nitro Series with the event attracting some 200 entries and a good mixture of World-class drivers and local talent. Adam Drake was top qualifier in the Expert Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truck classes. In the premier 1/8th Nitro Buggy class final Mugen driver Drake took the win from Kyosho’s Cody King in 2nd and TLR driver Mark Pavidis who finished in 3rd.
