Yee Kok Leong wins at Malaysia Nationals finale

Yee Kok Leong wins at Malaysia Nationals finale

The final round of the Malaysia National Nitro On-road Championship was run at the Taman Titiwangsa Circuit. In the 1/8th category Serpent driver Nick Chong took the TQ spot but it was Kimie (Capricorn) who took the early lead in the final, closely followed by Haji Jusri (Serpent). Later Kimie had to pull out of the race, handing the lead to Haji but he had to come in for a tyre change around the 20 minute mark which allowed Nick Chong to jump into the lead but halfway into the race a broken steering servo stopped Nick which allowed Yee Kok Leong (Serpent) to eventually take the win from Serpent team mate Haji Jusri and Neil (Xray).

This year the popular Baden-Württemberg Cup in Germany consisted of four rounds held in Nufringen, Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Laupheim and the final round in Senden. Unfortunately the weather was a factor in each of the races, with it being either unbearably hot or rainy. Hannes Käufler was able to win three out of the three races he attended in the Nitro Buggy division to win the overall title. Ralf just narrowly missed out on a nitro podium to finish fourth overall behind runner-up Micha Widmaier and Alexander Schmitt.

JR Mitch wins at Nitro Force Series Rd1

JR Mitch wins at Nitro Force Series Rd1

The Florida Nitro Series began at famous Lake Park Raceway just outside of Tampa. TLR’s JR Mitch took the win in the Nitro Buggy main only after showing up Sunday morning fresh with zero track time. With morning practice and jumping into the lower main, track time on the current surface would work to his favour. Moving through and in to the B Main, then on to the A-main, Mitch started moving his way through the field from his bump up spot at the back of the grid to take the win despite this being a 1-day event for him.
