Rombouts wins at Dutch 1/10 IC on-road nats Rd3

Rombouts wins at Dutch 1/10 IC on-road nats Rd3

Under perfect weather conditions the 3rd round of the Dutch 1/10 IC on-road  nationals was held at the RACO track in Utrecht in the centre of the Netherlands. The track was constructed in the early 1980’s out of a line flying circle and therefore the main straight is in fact a shallow bend to the left. As the majority of corners is also going left this requires a special car setup in order to get an even tyre wear during the finals. As the track also features a tight infield hairpin to the right, which is hard on brakes, this tricky track requires driving skills as well as set up skills to be successful.

Darren Bloomfield wins UK Truggy nationals Rd3

Round 3 of the 2014 BRCA Truggy series was held at the Wakefield track in the North of England. After taking a convincing TQ with his Bullitt-powered Agama A8T, Darren Bloomfield would go on to dominate the main final to take his second victory in the series, with team mate Jon Hazlewood taking victory at round 2. The E-buggy class would see an exciting duel between Darren Bloomfield and Elliott Boots for the TQ spot, with Elliott just edging it despite Darren having the fastest individual time en route to a round TQ. The main final would see a great drive from Tony Truman who had had a terrible qualifying leaving him having to come through the B final. Tony drove his way through the pack to take an excellent 2nd overall behind Elliott. Darren had an issue that sidelined him at around half distance. Callum Niblett completed the podium with a fine 3rd place as he continues his recent upturn in form.
