Leino TQs opening qualifier at ENS

Despite having not raced 1:10 200mm nitro since the World Championships in Thailand in 2012, HB’s Teemu Leino got his return to the class off to an impressive start as he TQ’d the first qualifier at the opening round of the all new Euro Nitro Series in Melzo.  Having set the pace in practice at the Italian event earlier in the day, the Finn completed a perfect first day posting the fastest time over the 4-minute qualifier by .638 of a second from World’s podium finisher Francesco Tironi with Serpent’s Dominic Greiner completing the Top 3.  Having posted the second fastest time in practice, Dario Balestri would fail to complete a single lap in Q1 suffering a throttle servo failure in his Capricorn on his out lap.

Kurzbuch tops first 1:8 timed practice at ENS

Former 1:8 World Championship finalist Simon Kurzbuch set the pace in the first timed practice at the opening round of the all new Euro Nitro Series which is taking place this weekend in Melzo, Italy.  The factory Shepherd driver posted the fastest 3-consecutive laps to head team-mate Oliver Mack by .070 of a second with former World Champion Robert Pietsch completing the Top 3.  Top Italian on the timesheets at the Mini Racing Ayrton Senna track with the fourth fastest time would be Alberto Picco.

Balestri fastest in first ENS practice

Dario Balestri has set the pace in the first 1:10 200mm timed practice at the opening round of the all new Euro Nitro Series in Melzo, Italy. The factory Capricorn driver ran the fastest 3-consecutive laps of the Mini Racing Ayrton Senna track over the 6-minute session to head HB’s Teemu Leino by .097 of a second.  Behind the two well known racers Xray driver Luca Redaelli was 3rd fastest as the Top 5 was filled by cars from 5 different manufacturers, Shepherd’s Dirk Wischnewski fourth fastest and Dominic Greiner’s Serpent 5th.

Xray Challenge Grand Final – Announcement

Xray Challenge Grand Final – Announcement

Xray will hold their Xray Challenge Grand Final on the weekend of the 4th of May at the famous Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. Run on the outdoor asphalt track the race will see Touring Car Modified, Touring Car 17.5T Stock, Formula 1 and World GT classes along 1/10th and 1/8th nitro on-road racing. The weekend starts with free practice on Friday afternoon, Saturday is reserved for more practice and the first qualifiers with the final round of qualifying and the mains will take place on Sunday. J Sotiropoulos takes Greek 200mm nationals Rd1

The opening round of the Greek nitro on-road nationals took place at the historic track in Athens. After five rounds of 4 minute qualifying J. Sotiropoulos took the TQ in front of Karabelas and Sidiropoulos. In the 35 minute main final Sotiropoulos was able to conserve his qualifying performance while Kirkos and Nikiforos, who qualified 4th and 5th respectively, shifted to second gear to take the last remaining podium spots in 2nd and 3rd.

Adam Drake wins Pro Truck at 2014 Psycho Nitro Blast

Last weekend’s Psycho Nitro Blast saw Adam Drake (TLR/Novarossi) walking away with the win in the Pro Truck class. Drake came in 1st after the 45 minute final on the huge and very demanding indoor track in front of Cody King (Kyosho/reds) and Carson Wernimont (Mugen/O.S.) who all finished on the same lap.

Nuno Rebelo wins at ACRP club trophy

The first ever ACRP club trophy was run at the historic Trofa track in the North of Portugal. The race format was quite a special one as the qualifying seeded the drivers into different final heats that are all run over 30 minutes with the fastest overall time declaring the winner. Tiago Aguiar TQ’ed the race but due to massive rain he opted not to race his final, handing Nuno Rebelo the overall win. Jose Leitao finished with the second fastest time while Ruben Simoes completed the podium in third place.

Daniele Ielasi joins RB factory team

RB announce the latest signing to their factory team in the form of former World, European and multiple Italian champion Daniele Ielasi. Daniele will use the company’s .12 and .21 engines in his 2014 on-road campaign that will include the 1/8th and 1/10th scale Italian championships, the Euro Nitro Series, the 1/8th Euros and the 1/8th SuperGT Euros.
