Darren Bloomfield wins at BRCA Truggy nats Rd1

The 1st round of the BRCA National Truggy Championships was held at Herts over the weekend. With the UK once again experiencing clear, sunny weather the competitors for the opening round of the Truggy and E-Buggy Nationals were in for a treat with the track having been rolled and prepared since the previous weekend. In Truggy qualifying Darren Bloomfield spent the time adjusting his car after the previous event in the US where servo issues had prevented a good result, but here he was thankfully able to concentrate on improving the set up and improving his lap times. He would eventually end up qualifying in 2nd place on the grid behind Mugen’s Jack Embling and in a good place to challenge for the main final. Darren’s Agama teammates Ollie Currie and Jon Hazlewood started directly behind Bloomfield in 3rd and 4th respectively on the grid.

Robert Batlle wins IBR Champions League Rd3

Robert Batlle (Mugen) has taken the win at the Rd3 round of the IBR Champions League race in Italy. Alex Zanchettin (TLR) and Federico Ruggeri (Kyosho) completed the podium for a Novarossi 1-2-3. Fabrizio Teghesi (Kyosho) and Davide Ongaro (TLR) came in 4th and 5th respectively.

Mario Miranda wins 200mm at Portuguese nats Rd1

Mario Miranda wins 200mm at Portuguese Nationals Rd1

The first race of the Portuguese nitro on-road nationals took place last weekend. At first it looked like Bruno Coelho would make a clean sweep in the qualifiers and semifinals but he ran into trouble allowing Mario Miranda to take the pole position for the final. In the main Mario and Bruno had a great battle for the lead and while Bruno looked like he would be the winner Mario was able to squeeze by in the final lap to take the win over his Xray teammate.

Thornhill Racing Circuit hosts ROAR Offroad Fuel Nats

The 2014 ROAR 1/8 Offroad Fuel Nationals will be held on the weekend of the 22nd of June at the Thornhill Racing Circuit. Deep in the heart of Texas, the best that ROAR has to offer will descend onto a track designed and built by world-renowned Joey “The Dirt” Christensen to contest who will be the next U.S. national champions. Joey will also be hosting the nationals warm-up race, billed as “The Dirt Lonestar Nitro Challenge” which will be held on May 15th to 18th. Registration for the nationals is scheduled to open on ROAR’s website on March 21st, 2014. More information can be found here.

José Areias wins at Portuguese 1/8th on-road nats Rd1

The first round of the 2014 Portuguese nitro on-road nationals took place at the Sintra track near Lisbon. The weekend started with a low grip track on Saturday and cloudy, partly wet racing on Sunday but culminated in a dry semi and main final that was won by new Capricorn driver José Areias. The 1/8 class podium was completed by Mário Miranda in 2nd and Solange Araujo in 3rd place.

Christian Cavicchioli wins at Max Power Trophy

Last weekend the Mini Circuit M.C.S. 80 in Bologna held the Max Power Trophy, the first important race after the Winter season. In the 1/8th on-road class Christian Cavicchioli (Capricorn/XRD) took TQ after winning the first and third qualifying round. Alberto Tedeschi (Serpent/Max Power) and Mattia Collavo (Capricorn/XRD) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively. For the 30 minute final Christian was able to conserve his performance to take the win in front of his Capricorn/XRD teammate Mattia. Alessandro Bracci (Xray/Max Power) came in 3rd to complete the podium.

Juan Hidalgo wins at Madrid regional championship

The first round of the Madrid regional championships took place last weekend. Serpent’s Juan Hidalgo took the win in front of his team mates Rodrigo Pahissa and Victor Pelaez. Valentin Garcia and Christian Lopez rounded out the top5 result.

2014 Silver State Nitro Challenge – Announcement

The 2014 Silver State Nitro Challenge will take place from the 10th to 13th of April at the Boulder City Track in Las Vegas, NV with international super stars like Yuichi Kanai, Atsushi Hara and Kyle McBride in attendance. The event is also the second round of the USProCup 2014 and it will see the running of a Gas Buggy, Gas Truck and Electric Buggy category all of which are separated in three new classes; 100 percent, 99-1 percent and 0 percent chassis sponsor. Additionally 40 over Buggy and 40 over Truck will be held, separated into 100 percent chassis sponsored drivers and everyone else.
