Rick V wins Dutch EFRA GP

The famous Appeldoorn track was the host of the Dutch EFRA GP that attracted some 27 drivers from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy. The weather forecast was a little bit doubtful as one could expected after the rainy Summer but the weekend proved to be a dry one except for some light rain on Saturday. The final was a bit of a tire gamble as due to the use of additives tire wear was higher than normal and when the dust settled it was Xray driver Rick Vrielijnck who took the top spot on the podium followed by Silvio Hächler and John Ermen. Gunther van Staey took the fourth place with Simon Kurzbuch in fifth position.

The 36th Annual Forgass Nitro On-Road Series took place at the Homestead/Miami Speedway. With the temperatures being very hot and humid the first race of the new season was a hard one for the drivers as well as for the material but the extreme conditions didn’t bother Team Shepherd driver Scotty Gray and his newly updated Shepherd Velox V10 “tweleve” who dominated the qualifying. The 30 minutes final began with Scotty starting from pole position and pulled away quickly. With swift fuel stops he was able to further increase the gap and at the end he crossed the finish line in first position. The next race will be held at Nuggets Ranch Raceway in Arcadia (FL) followed by the ROAR Fuel On-Road Nationals at the same place from the 17th to 21st of October.
