Jörn Neumann to race DNX408 for Durango

Jörn Neumann has signed to race the Durango DNX408 1/8th scale buggy to accompany the electric DEX410 and DEX210 prototype he’s already had great success with. The former LRP buggy driver is a multiple national champion in Germany, European champion and took 9th in the 2010 IFMAR 8th buggy worlds. Jörn had this to say about the deal:

I am very happy to join Team Durango also in 8th scale. After testing the DNX408 at Revelation Raceway, I was really impressed how the DNX408 handles. I’m really looking forward to many great years with Team Durango.

Ryan Lopez wins Pro Buggy at GSS Rd1

Last weekend saw the first round of the Georgia state series at The Wasteland track in Henry County with over 150 entries and some very good talent in town. Ryan Lopez Took TQ and would go on to take the win in Pro buggy with his Go Engine Gx5 powered Losi buggy. Mugen racers Barry Pettit and Mike Batille took 2nd and 3rd respectively.

JConcepts announce 2011 factory team

JConcepts have announced their factory team for the 2011 season which sees some new additions to the team including Jeremy Kortz, Brian Kinwald and Billy Fischer. Drivers to extend their contracts with JConcepts include JR Mitch, Joern Neumann, Elliot Boots, Steven Hartson and of course Ryan Maifield whose re-signing we covered earlier.

Casey Peck wins KBRL Rd5

The successful KBRL Nitro Series continued with its latest stop at Canyon Vista in Tucson AZ. Great weather and a full race program of AZ’s finest racers going at it for the for top honors and bragging rights for the week. In the expert Buggy class it was Team Losi Racing driver Casey Peck who topped both qualifiers earning the TQ and the extra point in the series championship. After a few laps of battling with Max Flurer and team mate Chris Wheeler, Peck secured the lead for the 20 min main and never looked back to win from Losi team mate Wheeler in 2nd and Durango racer Billy Fischer in 3rd.

Oscar Cabezas signs for VOX Engines

Vox engines, the sister brand of Motonica, have announced that they have signed 2010 Spanish 1/8th scale champion Oscar Cabezas for 2011. Motonica driver Oscar will use the new Vox Otto V.1 FT 3.5cc engine to defend his National title as well as compete at the 1/8th scale World Championships in Miami, Florida in April.

Bowie Ginting wins opening Indonesian National

The first Indonesian 1/8th scale national championship race was held in JITC Senayan circuit, Jakarta last weekend. It was perfect sunny weather for race with only a little rain in the semi finals. The race system was 5 x 3 minutes qualifying with the top 5 drivers going directly into the Grand final, while the rest of the grid qualified through a 20 minute Semi Final. It was Bowie Ginting who took the TQ spot with his Mugen MRX5, followed by Senior driver, Toni Kundjung and 2010 National champion, Ricardo Carnadi. Hendry and Sani Nugroho completed the top 5.

Scotty Gray signs for Capricorn

Capricorn sign Scotty Gray to race team

Capricorn RC have announced the signing of young American star Scotty Gray for 2011. Scotty will use the LAB-C01 with Capricorn LAB-E01 SQ 2011 engine along with Capricorn tires and accessories. Scotty is making his debut this weekend at the world famous Ft. Myers race track’s FORGASS race and is off to a great start having taken the TQ spot. He will stay on in Ft. Myers to compete in next week’s Winternats.
