Round 4 of the Astro Winter Series was held at the Deerdale Off Road club last weekend. Frosty winter weather made for challenging track and racing conditions and in Nitro Buggy it was Graham Alsop who made the best out of it, taking the TQ and win from Mitch Booth in 2nd while Chris Sharpe-Simkiss completed the top 3 result.

In a message on social media former IFMAR 1/8th scale IC Track World and EFRA European Champion, Simon Kurzbuch has announced his departure from long-time engine sponsors Novarossi. The multi-time Swiss National Champion is looking back on a very successful campaign with the iconic Italian engine manufacturer and he has the following to say about his departure:
Season 2020 starts with the communication about my departure from Novarossi as engine supplier. Thanks to Grazia, the whole Novarossi factory, Alfredo, Laura, Francesca, Malik, Federico, Daniele, Stefano, Silvio and Cesare! We had a really great time, sometimes better some time bad but all the races we won together speak for itself, grazie grazie grazie! All the best for you all! Mugen Seiki Racing have announced the signing of top US 1/8th off-road racer, Tanner Denney. Tanner brings a tremendous amount of experience on and off the track and will be a huge asset to Mugen Seiki Racing’s off-road team. Tanner’s first event with Mugen Seiki vehicles will be the TNC Madness at The Nitro Compound in Arizona.

Round 2 of the popular RWMCC Winter Series was held in Slough, UK last weekend. Agama’s Kevin Brunsden made a clean sweep in the Nitro Buggy qualifying, taking wins in all four qualifiers for the overall TQ from Tekno RC’s Michael Lightfood. The 20-minute A-final then again saw Kevin leading the way and taking the win with a 30-seconds margin on Michael. Behind the two it was Taro Cradock (Kyosho) who would round out the top 3 result some 11 seconds behind Michael.

The FEMCA IC On-road Championships and IFMAR 1/10th 200mm Pre-Worlds will be held as a joint event at England Park Raceway, Brisbane, Australia from May 26th to 31st. The Pre-World Championship for 1/10th IC Track Touring Cars will be run concurrently with the FEMCA Championships for 1/10th and 1/8th scale IC Track classes. All classes will be run using controlled fuel and tyres and more information can be found on the official event website here as well as on social media here.
The 2020 CRCRC 1/8 Winter MidWest Champs were held at The Ohio R/C Factory in Jeffersonville, Ohio this past weekend, drawing 143 entries. Agama’s Tyler Jones would lead qualifying, taking the overall TQ in Pro Nitro Buggy from Xray’s Adam Johnson in 2nd. The 30-minute A-main event then was a constant forth and back up front with Tyler Jones, Adam Johnson and Mark Sousa swapping leads several times. In the second half of the main things settled a bit as Adam was able establish himself up front, taking the win some 7.7 seconds from Tyler in 2nd as Mugen’s Collin Weatherholt came in 3rd to round out the top 3.
Round 6 of the PDMCC Answer RC Winter Series was held this past weekend in frosty cold UK Winter weather, making for some tricky condition. With the temperature barley rising through the day it was late before the track eventually just about thawed bit still remain slippery, along with a very slight track changed this resulting in some interesting racing. The schedule saw five 6-minute qualifiers and 22-minute mains with the A-main being won by Ashley Owen a lap in front of Mugen driver, Vincenzo Zuccarelli. Agama pilot Dave Blakeley came in 3rd to round out the top 3 podium result.
