Contact announce 2017 factory drivers

Contact have announced their 2017 factory driver line up. Beside long established Robert Pietsch, who is in his seventh season and reigning 1/8th World Champion, Simon Kurzbuch, next year’s team will also see Germany’s up and coming Toni Gruber, who has shown some impressive results lately, including an overall 4th place at the 2016 Guan Kou Sunpadow GP in China.

Nicholas Lee teams up with Arrowmax

Arrowmax have announced the addition of Singapore’s Nicholas Lee to their team. The 2016 IFMAR Electric Touring A-main finalist will use the company’s range of tools and accessories including Arrowmax’s set-up system and he has the following to say about the deal:

Mirko Salemi joins BMT 1/8th team

Following the signing of Mattia Collavo to their 1/10th team, BMT have announced the addition of swift Mirko Salemi to their 1/8th scale team. Mirko will campaign the company’s BMT984 Evo in 2017 at all major events such as the national championship, EFRA GP, the IFMAR Worlds and the ENS.

2017 Charity Race – Announcement

The annual Charity Race will be held on the 14th and 15th of January. A tight race calendar forced the organisers to shift the event to the second weekend of January, nevertheless a range of European top drivers such as Marc and Toni Rheinard, Ronald Volker, Viktor Wilck,  Francesco Martini, Max Machler, Marcel Geiger, Yannic Prumper, Dominic Vogl as well as several Italian top drivers already signed in for the race that will raise money for the good cause. Euro Contest 2017 – Announcement

The 2017 Euro Contest will be held from the 16th to 18th of June at the Barco-Off track in Italy. Considered to be one of the largest nitro off-road races in Europe, with 270 entries in 2016, the race will again be held in the three categories of Pro Nitro Buggy, Open Nitro Buggy and E-Buggy. Nicolas Lee joins Protoform factory team

Protoform have announced the addition of 2016 ISTC World Finalist Nicholas Lee to their factory racing team. Nicholas’ track record across many different platforms of on-road racing makes him an ideal fit and Protoform look forward to having him represent the team in Asia and across the international racing scene at electric touring, nitro touring and 1/8 nitro events. Nicholas says:

Nicholas Lee joins Serpent nitro on-road team

Serpent have announced the signing of Singapore’s Nicholas Lee to their nitro on-road team. Nicholas will campaign the company’s Viper 977 and Natrix 748 cars at the Asian FEMCA races and other events while giving on-track support together with recently signed Felix Law. Nicholas had the following to say:

Alberto Picco wins 1/8th Open at U.S. World Nitro Cup

The 2016 U.S. World Nitro Cup was held at Full Throttle RC Raceway in Kissimmee, Florida over the weekend. As usual the event attracted some of the country’s fastest nitro on-road racers to compete against guests from abroad and it would be Australia’s Jesse Davis (Infinity) that would lead the way in 1/8th Open qualifying to take the TQ after four rounds of qualifying. In the 45-minute main final though it would be Italy’s Alberto Picco (Mugen) that took the overall win some 7.6s in front of Jesse while Lamberto Collari (Infinity) completed the podium result in third, one lap down.
