Volker takes Q1 in Mattsee

Ronald Volker has TQ’d a very close opening round of qualifying at Round 4 of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Austria. Winner of the fahr(T)raum hosted event last year, the Yokomo driver would top the times by just 0.187 of a second from Xray’s Bruno Coelho. Just a further 0.265 off, Tamiya’s Akio Sobue who topped the times in practice would complete the Top 3 around the covered temporary asphalt track.

Sobue tops seeding at ETS Austria

Tamiya’s Akio Sobue is the top seed for qualifying at Round 4 of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Mattsee, Austria, after the Japanese driver topped the final round of practice from defending champion Ronald Volker.  The Japanese driver’s first appearance in Season #8 and the only Tamiya in the Top 10, he posted the fastest 3-consecutive laps of CP2 by 0.271 of a second from that of Volker with Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski completing the Top 3.  For free practice and CP1 pace setter Bruno Coelho a switch to new tyres, used proving faster on the low traction conditions, left him unable to improve his time as he dropped to sixth.

Xray leads the way in practice

Team Xray have laid down the early pace at the fourth round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Austria as their drivers filled the top two spots on the time sheets after free practice. Racing at the temporary fahr(T)raum track in Mattsee, it was Bruno Coelho who set the fastest time ahead of team-mate Alexander Hagberg while last year’s winner Ronald Volker completed the Top 3. With low traction the order of the day, Round 3 winner Yannic Prumper would end the four rounds of practice only 6th fastest but for the other of this season’s race winners things faired even worse with Marc Rheinard only managing 20th.

ETS title chase heads to Austria

ETS title chase heads to Austria

After just a short two week break the Yokomo Euro Touring Series is back in action this weekend (May 1-3) as Round 4 of the championship takes competitors to Mattsee in Austria. A venue that first appeared on the calendar last year, the event hosted by the fahr(T)raum Museum, a homage to Austrian automotive pioneer Ferdinand Porsche, brings a unique track to the world famous touring car championship. While classified as an outdoor asphalt race, the US boards style track is actually enclosed under one massive marquee that has been erected just for the ETS’ visit.

Matrix International Championship – Announcement

Matrix International Championship – Announcement

Matrix Racing Tires together with the team of the Tom Racing Circuit track in Hong Kong announce the Matrix International Championship from the 3rd to 5th of July. The race will be open to 1/8th scale and 200mm nitro classes, and will be held in a three days racing format with free practice on Friday, qualifications on Saturday and mains on Sunday. Michal Abrahamek wins at IFR 2015

The IFR 2015 in was held at the Morac Graz in Austria with drivers from Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Austria in attendance. The temperature of about 25 degree Celsius made for nice racing conditions although the grip level was pretty low. Xray driver Michal Abrahamek came out as top qualifier and he went on to win the main final without problems. Igor Liptak (Xray) came in 2nd while Gergö Lehner (Shepherd) rounded out the top 3 result.

Jörn Neumann sweeps International Warmup Race

The 10th International Warmup Race was held at the ESV Bischofsheim track with around 180 drivers in attendance in the three classes of 1/8th Nitro Buggy, Nitro Truggy and E-Buggy. The Nitro Buggy class had Jörn Neumann dominating the class with Marcel Guske and Carsten Keller coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively in the main final. The Truggy class again had Jörn Neumann coming out successful, this time in front of Alex Hardt and young Burak Kilic. Last but not least in the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was again Jörn who came out successful for a clean sweep at the traditional off-road season opener. A hard chasing Joseph Quagraine finished on the runner-up spot while Carsten Keller rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Hideo Kitazawa joins Trinity A-team

Hideo Kitazawa joins Trinity A-team

Trinity have announced the signing of 4-time Japan National On-road Champion Hideo Kitazawa to their A-team. Hideo is a veteran 1/12th scale racer and engineer at Futaba where he designed the 4PX, 4PK and 4PL.
