Oliver Franke teams up with Yokomo

Yokomo have announced the signing of Germany’s Oliver Franke to their team. The multiple ETS Pro Stock winner and podium finisher is backed by several stock class titles and he will race both nationally and internationally in his 2015 campaign that will include the ETS, LRP TCM and selected national events. Oliver has the following to say:

My goals for this season are to participate at international events like the ETS, LRP TCM and also National events, to get the best out of the car and help strengthen Yokomo’s presence in the Pro Stock category. I would like to thank Team Yokomo’s Robert Itoh and Yukijiro Umino for giving me the opportunity to become a member of a very strong team. I am looking forward to many international events and being successful there. So far I am very impressed with the solid build and awesome quality.

Yuichi Kanai is back with Pro-Line

Pro-Line have announced the signing of Yuichi Kanai to their factory racing team. The Japanese is one of the most respected and talented designers in all of R/C and he is backed by a World Championship title back in 2000. Pro-Line is proud to welcome Yuichi back for the 2015 racing season and look forward to great success with the Red Army.

Naoto Matsukura joins Kyosho Factory offroad team

Team Kyosho International have announced that 4-time World Champion Naoto Matsukura has joined their factory offroad team. The multiple time Japanese National offroad Champion and current 4wd Vice World Champion will use the company’s line of 2wd and 4wd buggies. Naoto left Yokomo at the end of last year having raced both on and offroad for them and has subsequently joined Tamiya to race their electric touring car.

Tessmann heads 4WD practice at Reedy Race

After two rounds of 4WD practice at the Reedy Race of Champions in California, HB’s Ty Tessmann heads the pace with the Canadian setting the fastest lap time from Ryan Maifield and World Champion Steven Hartson.  Defending champion Ryan Cavalieri would end up fourth quickest despite pulling an arm off his Associated in the second practice.  With a best lap of 20.457, Tessmann was fastest by 0.140 from Maifield with Hartson running an almost identical time around the OCRC Raceway track to his former team-mate.

Rivkin sets early 2WD pace at Reedy Race

Up and coming offroad star Spencer Rivkin set the early practice pace in 2WD buggy at the 21st running of the Reedy Race of Champions. Having only signed a multi-year agreement with Team Associated and Reedy last month, the 16-year-old set the fastest lap of the morning at OCRC Raceway ahead the TLR’s JP Richards, Associated team-mate Steven Hartson and defending back to back champion Ryan Cavalieri.

Martin Wollanka renews with Xray

Xray has announced that European Vice-Champion and multiple Austrian Champion Martin Wollanka will continue to be part of the Xray factory team to race 1/8th and 1/10th off-road classes in 2015. Martin will race at the 1/8th and 1/10th Euros and Austrian Nationals as well as selected international events and the EOS series. Martin says:

The 2014 year was the first year for me being part of the Xray factory team and I could not be happier for the support and the great handling car which allowed me to win all the National races as well gaining the title of European Vice-Champion. I am very happy to be part of the very professional and hard working team. The dedicate work of Juraj and entire team motivates me to improve all the time and I hope for even greater results this season. I am looking forward the 2015 races, see you soon.

Cole Odgen continues with Reds Racing

Reds Racing have announced the contract renewal with Cole Odgen for 2015. Cole collected some incredible finishes with Reds in 2014, including 1st in Pro Buggy at the Fall Brawl, 1st in Pro Buggy and Truggy at the Southern Nationals, 1st in Pro Buggy and Truggy at the Southern Indoor Championship and more. His campaign then culminated in participating at his first World Championship landing him as a quarter finalist. Cole will be attending all the major events in 2015 including the NeoBuggy race in April and he has the following to say:

Signing with Reds for 2015 is another step into my future of success. I’m very happy to be with Reds for another year, and using these high quality engines for my power plants is an honor. Tebo & Cavalieri join Mx brand

Maxima announce the signing of Jared Tebo and Ryan Cavalieri to run their Mx engines and nitro fuel through to the end of 2016. Mx is Maxima’s US brand, with the engines and fuel being the same as the popular Maxima branded products.

Mx and Maxima aims to improve greatly through the feedback of both Jared and Ryan and it was great that pre-season testing produced happy faces all-round.
