Shepherd commit to Euro Nitro Series

Shepherd Micro Racing is the latest company to get behind the inaugural Euro Nitro Series, the German chassis manufacturer signing up to become a primary sponsor of the ‘Pilot Series’ and committing to field an international driver line-up at both races. With their headquarters located just 15km from the Hockenhiemring, which will host the first ever ENS event in one months time, it was Shepherd’s annual European Nitro Challenge which lead to the creation of the Euro Nitro Series.

Volker & Franke win titles at 2013 LRP TCM

The 2013 LRP Touring Car Masters took place this weekend on a later date than usual and at an all new venue in Althengstett near Stuttgart. Some of the big names were missing this year but there was still a lot of quality in attendance. In the modified class Yokomo driver Ronald Volker took the top spot in qualifying in front of Awesomatix racer Freddy Sudhoff in 2nd with another Yokomo driver Eric Dankel third. In the finals Volker wrapped up the win early to take his 4th consecutive win with the Awesomatix pairing of Sudhoff and Finnish team mate Viljami Kutvonen completing the podium in 2nd and 3rd. In the Pro Stock class Oliver Franke took his HB chassis to the TQ spot in front of Xray driver Marek Cerny in 2nd with Tobias Vogel in 3rd. Franke would take the overall win after 2 legs with Cerny needing the 3rd leg to confirm the runner up spot after a bad result in Leg 2. Yokomo driver Zdenko Kunak would complete the Top 3.

Joseph Quagraine wins RedBull GP in Moscow

Last week end a RedBull GP was held at a Hobby Expo in Moscow Russia. There were over 200 entries all together in a race that covered all the electric offroad classes. This was the debut of the production JQ Electric 1:8th Buggy. There were three JQeCars at the event, and all three made the main, JQ, Dmitry Malyshko and Timo Jalas. The racetrack threw some curve balls to certain drivers with two jumps that crossed over the diagonal main straight. Tricky to jump, and marshall. In the end Joseph Quagraine would take the win ahead of Serpent driver Jörg Tiit in the 2nd with JQ driver Dmitry Malyshko completing the podium in 3rd.

Alexander Hagberg reports on Xray Challenge Greece

The Xray Challenge Greece was held last weekend at the FRT track outside of Athens and this report is by Alexander Hagberg. ‘The track is huge by its size, comparable to the famous Lostallo track in Switzerland. It has been the host of numerous EFRA European Championship events in the past, so the quality of the track is very good. This time, the race featured the 1/10 GP and 1/10 EP Modified classes. A total entry count of around 50 had joined the event which was held over one day. The weather was sunny and reaching well over 20 degrees C, which meant perfect racing conditions.

Xray back Euro Nitro Series

Xray are to back the inaugural Euro Nitro Series, the organisers of the new championship for onroad nitro racing are delighted to announce the World Champion manufacturer as the first primary sponsor of the two race ‘Pilot Series’ that will kick off at the end of next month at the Hockenheimring in Germany. A key partner of the Euro Touring Series, in which they are the defending Pro Stock Champions, Xray have played an instrumental role in the creation of the ENS offering their support for the series as far back the middle of last year.

Italian Job Race – Announcement

The 2013 edition of the Italian Job Race will be held at the weekend of the 2rd of September at the D&R track in Castelnuovo Calcea. Run in buggy F1 and F2 category the race is a nitro buggy only meeting with no truggy or electric class. To sign up for the race and for more information click here.

2013 JConcepts Clash – Announcement

For 2013 the JConcepts Clash returns Indoors to the Flowood Indoor R/C park in Flowood, Mississippi, on the weekend of September 6-8, 2013. A large building and track operated by super promoter Bubba Barham equals big-time Clash action. The 7th annual event will take place on a newly built indoor race course at the Flowood R/C park and will be specifically built for this annual event. Racers such as Ryan Maifield, Ryan Cavalieri, Jared Tebo, Dustin Evans, Lee Martin, JR Mitch, Steven Hartson, Tanner Denney, Brent Thielke, Jorn Neumann, Hupo Honigl, Barry Pettit, Billy Easton, Ryan Eckert, Jason Ruona and Paul Wynn have always made racing fast and exciting at the Clash throughout the years. Dirk Wischnewski joins MLC Collari

Dirk Wischnewski joins Collari MLC

Former German and European 1/10th on-road champion Dirk Wischnewski has joined MLC Collari for the 2013 season. He will use MLC’s new 16% competition fuel and other products at all German races as well as at the European Championship in Austria. Dirk had the following to say:

I’m very happy to join Team MLC for 2013 racing season. As I test MLC fuel for the first time I was very impressed by the performance. The fuel provides a lot of power and very good runtime. Thanks to Raffaele and Patrick.
