European Offroad Series announced

After much planning we are pleased to announce the dates for the much anticipated 2011/12 Euro Offroad Series. Scotty Ernst and Uwe Rheinard, the organizers behind the very successful Euro Touring Series ‘ETS’, have taken their format and formula and will be bringing it to the exciting world of Offroad. The four round EOS will kick off in the UK at Ardent Raceway on November 4-6 2011, the premier indoor facility in the UK and the perfect place for the EOS to get underway.

2011 Tamiya EuroCup Finals result

2011 Tamiya EuroCup Finals result

The 2011 Tamiya EuroCup Finals were held in Basel Switzerland last weekend. The event saw 110 drivers from 8 countries compete for European Champion honors in 6 categories; Top Stock, M-chassis, Buggy, Gentlemen, F1, and Euro GT (mod). Swiss, German, and Hungarian drivers topped the tables. Geng Bence of Hungary Crowned Top stock Champion, Swiss Roman Pichler and Marco Siegenthaler F1 and GT Champions respectively. Mathias Reber of Germany made the podium twice with 2nd in both M.chassis and F1.

Neil Cragg takes victory at Noux Les Mines GP

The Noux Les Mines GP, located in the city of Noux Les Mines some 50 miles south of Calais, France is one of the up and coming events in Europe featuring the fast drivers from France and many drivers from neighboring U.K. Making the drive and ferry ride for Team Associated was Neil Cragg and his freshly built RC8.2 having just completed it the Thursday before the event. Cragg set the fastest time in all three rounds of qualifying and a new lap record however the weather changed for the worse and the finals were rained out causing the organizers to use qualifying order as the final positions. With his dominant qualifying performance, Cragg was awarded the victory in front of new Xray signing Renaud Savoya in 2nd and Elliot Boots, running a Kyosho, in 3rd.

HobbyPro Open 2011 - Announcement

Team C Racing have been in contact to promote their HobbyPro Open event that takes place from the 5th to 6th of November at the TRC Track in Hong Kong. This gas event is open to 1/8th on road, 1/10th 200mm and 1/10th 220mm and will once again attract the Shepherd factory team with confirmed entries from Patrick Schaefer, Ronald Volker, Simon Kurzbuch and Jilles Groskamp. Team Orion confirm Elliot Harper signing

Team Orion have officially announced young on-road star Elliot Harper to their growing international team. Elliot who has been two time Worlds finalist, making the podium last year, will use Orion’s ESC, batteries and motors. The Tamiya driver, who has been running the Swiss company’s products for a few months now made the following statement:

I really like using the Team Orion products in my car. They are of high quality and the performance is awesome. The motors have great power and good feeling. The speedo is highly tunable for all conditions and tracks which is ideal, it is an ideal power package.

Renaud Savoya joins Xray

Renaud Savoya joins Xray

Xray have announced that 3x European champion Renaud Savoya has joined their team. Having just confirmed his split with Durango earlier this week, the French driver has already been testing his new ride in an effort to get up to speed with 808. Reno will play an important role at the R&D team to help with the further development of the 808 platform as well help to provide the technical support at the major events. Reno had this to say:

I’m very excited and motivated to join the Xray family! They always show huge motivation and ambition for racing, fuelled up by passion and devotion. As we were having different opinions and objectives with my previous sponsor, we decided to break our partnership in a friendly atmosphere. MiboSport Arena Opening race – Announcement

MiboSport in the Czech Republic, headed up by international TC driver Michal Bok have been in contact to tell us about the opening race at the new MiboSport Arena in Trebic. A friendly end of season race, it will take place from the 24th to the 25th of September on their sweet new purpose built astroturf track. The race will be open to 2wd and 4wd buggy as well as 2wd and 4wd Short Course. On Saturday evening there will a party with BBQ and some tradition Czech drinks which is free for all entrants.
