Hudy to sponsor 2010/2011 ETS

Hudy is proud to announce that they will be one of the primary sponsor of the Euro Touring Series 2010/2011. Moreover, the organisers together with the Slovakian company have prepared a very special and unique promotion for every Hobby and Stock Class racer. At every round of the ETS series, Hudy will provide one unique tool from the new 25 Years Anniversary exclusive tool line. That means that at every race, a different Hudy tool will be given for free to every racer in the Hobby and Stock categories, so those drivers who participate at all 6 rounds will have (at the end of the season) a nice collection of the most frequently-used RC tools.

HobbyPro Open – Announcement

The organisers of the Hobbypro Open 2010 were in touch to tell us that the event will be held on the 6th – 7th of November at the TRC Track in Hong Kong. Open to 3 classes, 1/8 On Road, 1/10 Touring and 220mm Touring, qualifying will have 4 x 7 minute runs. Top International drivers Daniele Ielasi and Robin D’Hondt will attend this races and more than 100 drivers from Asia are also confirmed in attendance, with other drivers from the rest of World welcome.

Having brought you some updates earlier in the week, testing has continued at the trick Pattaya track in Thailand, host of next months IFMAR 1/8th scale buggy World Championships. The videos, by RC Blood, show Renaud Savoya, Adam Drake, Jared Tebo and Mark Pavidis in action.

Xray support for 2010/2011 ETS

Xray is proud to announce that the 2010/2011 Euro Touring series will be supported and sponsored by Xray. Both the ETS organisers and the Xray company have agreed to create a mutual cooperation that will see the Slovakian company become a primary sponsor of the world’s biggest r/c touring car championship. This is a great news for all Xray drivers as the Xray factory team will be available at all six rounds of the ETS to provide full support and service. Xray guarantees that their service team will also be available at every race with a complete range of all spare parts and will provide technical and set-up help to all Xray drivers. Acorn Racing Cup – Announcement

The Inaugural Acorn Racing Cup for EP On-Road will be held on the weekend of the 24th of October in Glenmarie, KL, Malaysia host of the 2009 off road FEMCA race. This is the first race that is being held by Acorn Innovations since the company started and it is going to be open to 2 classes, F1 and Stock on-road touring. The race will have 3 x 6 minute qualifiers, followed by a 3 x 6 minute finals. There is no restriction on the brand of batteries or cars for this race but handout matched batteries from Acorn Racing will be issued for the second finals of the A-mains in both classes. Drivers from all over the world are welcome and along with a lot of attractive prizes to be won, the winner of the A-main gets a 1 year sponsorship deal directly from Acorn Racing.

Yokomo back 2010/11 Euro Touring Series

With the start of the 2010/11 Euro Touring Series just one week away the organisers of the world’s biggest r/c touring car championship are delighted to announce they have concluded a deal with Yokomo that will see the Japanese company become title sponsor. The fourth season of the ETS, the championship will be known as the ‘Yokomo Euro Touring Series’ and backs up the company’s continued commitment to the competition r/c market in Europe in what has been an ultra successful season for their BD5 Touring Car. 2010 has been a very fruitful year for the team with factory driver Ronald Volker claiming five major titles in Europe winning the DHI Cup, both the Indoor and Outdoor EFRA European Championships, the LRP Masters along with the highly competitive German National Championships.

Testing underway in Pattaya

This week sees a large scale test underway at the host track for next month’s 1/8th scale buggy World Championships in Pattaya Thailand. A large group from the US team are present as well as racers from Asia and Europe, getting to grips with the new track layout. Team Associated team manager Brent Thielke sent us some track shots and also included a video showing some on track action.

Pattaya Worlds track preperations in full swing

With the most anticipated event of the year, the 1/8th off road Worlds in Thailand, less than two months away and with a major test getting underway next week, the organisers have been flat out preparing the track for the event. As we can see from these photos, and as we know from models of the new layout, it is completely different from the Pre Worlds. Sporting carpet in areas, we talked with organiser Charlie Siribodhi when we were in Houston and he told us that they are preparing the most challenging track imaginable with off camber turns, large jump sections and other obstacles on this long lap. Red RC will be present throughout the entire event to bring you live coverage so be sure to stay tuned from the 7th of November.
