Max Flurer triple at Psycho Nitro Blast

Max Flurer triple at Psycho Nitro Blast

The Psycho Nitro Blast has become the largest spectacle for RC racing in the southeast United States. Taking place in a rodeo arena, the event collected over 608 combined entries of nitro and electric racers. A near, round-the-clock schedule utilizing 10-minute qualifiers made the event a true test of man and machine. With a grueling track and schedule, the attrition rate wears on the cars and people. The sacrificial punishment appears to be all the rage, people keep digging it and the event keeps growing every year.

Carlos Lambas wins Comunidad de Madrid Cup

Carlos Lambas wins Comunidad de Madrid Cup

The Comunidad de Madrid Cup took place last weekend at the Asoger Circuit. It was a wet start to the day and choice of tires was difficult, because only one set is allowed for the entire race. The rain stopped, but the track surface was still a bit wet and closer to the finals the track was drying up and having more grip. Carlos Lambas (Yokomo, Dualsky) managed to win the first two finals from pole position and so sat out the third final. Behind there was a close battle for 2nd overall between Rafa Ortiz (T.O.P., Acorn) and Carlos Fernandez (T.O.P., Acorn). In the end Rafael Ortiz took the second position in the leg but overall he would finish 3rd behind Isaiah Paul in 2nd.

Cody King wins Truggy at 2013 PNB

Cody King wins Truggy at 2013 PNB

‘Well Psycho Nitro Blast is over, and boy was it psycho and a blast’, 2010 World Champion Cody King reports on the action. ‘The crazy hours of practice and racing really takes a toll on your body. I was already tired from Cactus the week before, and it seemed like I didn’t get to bed till 5am everyday. The good news, I was fast from the beginning, and the cars just got better as we made some adjustments. In Truggy, Lutz would grab the TQ, but the main was little different. I would get the lead early and battle the entire 45 minutes with Adam Drake and Barry Pettit. When I say the entire 45, I really mean the whole thing from tone to tone. Those guys really made me work for it, and it wasn’t until the last few laps that I finally started stretching out. I’m really pleased to have a win in truggy. It’s been awhile since I won a truggy event, and the truck is really good right now. We softened the shock oil and moved some weight up front, and it’s really good.
