Viktor Wilck wins Swedish Cup finale

Viktor Wilck wins Swedish Cup finale

The final round of the Swedish Cup was held at the brand new Eskilstuna raceway. This 500 metre long track is one of the biggest in the world and it features a crazy long straight. In the Touring Car Modified class Viktor Wilck and Niclas Nilsson battled for the TQ with Niclas taking the wet opening round and Viktor striking back in Q2 and Q3 to take the overall TQ. The fight for the top spot would go on in the finals but it was again Viktor who had the upper hand, winning A1 and A2 with a 5-seconds margin to take the overall win. A wet A3 kept Viktor from starting and it looked like his team mate Niclas would grab the runner-up spot but some small mistakes let Alexander Andersson by. Alexander ultimately ended the day in second place from Niclas Nilsson who rounded out the podium in third.

Jürgen Horn takes Austrian TC Stock title

In practice pre-event favourite Jürgen Horn saw himself in the mix with his Xray team mates Jan Popic and Manfred Pasch all of which showed a very fast pace. Sunday then started out wet again and it was decided to skip the first qualifier so the new schedule would see three qualifying rounds followed by triple mains. The opening round than saw Jan Popic, Ralph Dorninger, Manfred Pasch and Jürgen Horn fighting for the TQ with the better end for Jan who took the round TQ from Jürgen, Ralph and Manfred. The second and third qualifier were then won by Jürgen while Jan came in second and Ralph and Manfred rounded out the top 4. The finals, run on a drying track with increasing grip, had Jürgen taking the win from Jan, Ralph and Manfred (all Xray) and with this win Jürgen Horn (Xray) grabbed the overall Stock championship from Jan Popic (Xray) and Vincent Schrank (VBC Racing).

Jost wins Rd6 as Mullik takes Dutch BL-Cup title

The 6th and final round of the Dutch BL-Cup was again held at the Euregio circuit in Hengelo, this time as a combined event with the German BL-Cup, raising the number of entries and making for good competition. The Euregio track pleased the drivers with a new feature called the Carrera twister which was a nice addition. After the qualifiers Bart grabbed the TQ followed by runner-up Lucas Jost. In the semifinals it was again Bart who came out fastest to put his buggy on the pole position for the main final. Right from the start Bart was leading the pack but he wasn’t able to pull away and so he was closely followed by Lucas who in turn had to defend himself. On lap 3 the leader made a mistake and he fell back to 5th place and Bart managed to get back into the 3 spot only to retire later due to a problem on his buggy. Up front Lucas managed to retain the lead and to take the win from Sascha Gehring and Anne Strom in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Overall and despite the DNF Bart Mullink took the 2015 Dutch BL-Cup title.
