Serpent legend Salven joins Ielasi Tuned

Ielasi Tuned engines has welcomed veteran 1:8 Onroad racer & Serpent legend Michael Salven to its team.  The announcement was made at this weekend’s opening round of the 2026 Euro Nitro Series at Minidrom Ettlingen in Germany.  A World Championship Top Qualifier, a European Champion, and multiple German Champion, Salven has been both successful as a racer, since joining Serpent in 1980, and as chief designer of their cars over the last three decades.  In joining Daniele Ielasi’s engine brand, a racer with whom he enjoyed many on track battles, Salven joins Serpent’s star driver Andrea Catanzani in representing the Italian company and running their Pista Team Edition engine.

Baird wins Irish Championship opener

Mugen Seiki driver Bradley Baird got his RCCAOI 1:8 Nitro Buggy Irish National Championship title defence off to a perfect start taking the win at the NIMCC hosted season opener.  Round 1 of the 5 round new look championship took drivers to Ballymena in Northern Ireland and on the astro track it was Baird who dominated a rain effected qualifying.  Topping all 5 rounds he would secured the TQ ahead of Dylan McBurney and Alan Scroggie.  In the 45-minute final, Baird continued his form to win ahead of Andrew McClean, who started 4th, with McBurney completing the podium.  Round 2 of the championship will see racers compete on dirt at the RCNI track in Bandbridge on June 20/21.

LAP Paradise Int. Buggy Party 2026 – Announcement

Moto Obscura RC10 B2, B3, & T3 Alu Parts

Vintage racing accessories brand Moto Obscura has recently announced a new line of aftermarket parts for the Team Associated B2, B3, and T3 2WD buggies and stadium trucks.  The item of the new product line is the front bulkhead which is machined from 7075 Aluminium alloy, and finished in either smooth black or deep blue anodising.  It retains the unique shape that defines the front of the chassis, while adding additional features like hinge pin set screws, and a pocket on the bottom for weight to be added.  The Rear arm mounts bring the same strength and style to the rear of the chassis. This unique single piece design features 3 degrees of toe and 3 degrees of Anti Squat. Like the front bulkhead, it is machined from 7075 Aluminium alloy, and finished in black or blue. Available with 4-40 mounting holes for the RC10 B2, or 5-40 mounting holes for the B3 and T3.  An aluminium transmission brace rounds out the new products for the B2 / B3 / T3 platform and adds some elegance right where it is most visible.

Club Race Hero CRH28 ‘Double Wishbone’ 1:28 chassis

Scott Jakes, the man behind Club Race Hero , the website that allows you to download, print, and race a 1:28 car, has revealed a new Double Wishbone version of the CRH28.  Jakes made headlines when he competed at the 2023 ROAR Electric On-Road Carpet Nationals with a 3D printed 1:12 car.  Shortly after, Jakes launched the Club Race Hero website to allow fellow racers download and print their own car.  After the 1:12 followed a 1:28 race chassis, 2025 a huge year for the 1:28 category, and the PN Racing approved CRH28 was added site for download in December.  Building on that platform now comes Scott’s latest work the CRH28 ‘Double Wishbone’ which is suit to created plenty of excitement for racers with 3D printers.  The car features 1:12 style steering and a long arm frontend.  It also gets a an updated rear pod and long pivot ball rear linkage.  The key element of the new file is the 8 degree reactive caster Double Wishbone.  22.6mm built in disc front wheels are also included.

Branson returms to Nitro Onroad with Ielasi Tuned

Nitro Touring Car World Championship podium finisher Kyle Branson is to make a return to nitro racing with Ielasi Tuned engines.  The British racer, who has been running competively in Electric Touring Car in recent years is making a come back to nitro in preparations for this year’s IFMAR Nitro Touring Car World Championship in Gubbio, Italy, this September.  Branson who opened his 2026 season with a win at the opening round of this year’s British Electric Touring Car National Championship, achieved 2nd place at the 2018 Nitro Worlds in Miami behind Naoto Matsukura.  On his deal with Ielasi Tuned, Branson said, ‘Huge thanks to Daniele and Sabrina for the trust in having me join their great team.  From the first time I ran the engines I was super happy with the performance and Daniele’s track support is second to none.  I’m looking forward to getting back in to nitro racing and can’t wait to hit the track soon.’

Arnaldi wins EFRA 1:5 GP in Luxembourg

Genius Racing’s Bernard-Alain Arnaldi took the win at the first EFRA 1:5 Grand Prix of the season, the Frenchman claiming victory in a rain effected finals day at the Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg”.  In Touring Car qualifying it was the Mecatech of Belgium’s Giovanni Verbrugghe who secured the TQ honours, his final run of the three qualifiers the fastest.  With Arnaldi second fastest, behind him the qualifying order was Cédric Prevot, Norwegian Marius Hetland, and reigning European Champion Carsten Keller from Germany.  Winning Super Pole, Prevot booked his direct spot on the final grid as the rest had to battle it out in their respective Semi Finals.  With Arnaldi winning his in the faster time, the 2-time European Champion would line up 3rd on the grid ahead of  2022 European Champion Edoardo Repetti from Italy who won the other Semi.  In a wet 20-minute final, weather conditions extremely challenging, setting the fastest lap of the race Arnaldi would come out tops to win by a comfortable margin over Repetti and the Top Qualifier Verbrugghe.  The second of the three 2026 scheduled EFRA Grand Prix’s will take place on June 6/7th in Macon, France.

Nicholson wins NSW State Title

The New South Wales State Titles for 1:10 Electric Touring Car took place over the weekend with Schumacher’s Simon Nicholson taking the Modified title.  Racing at the Australia’s most famous onroad track as host of two World Championships, 68 drivers made the trip to the John Grant International Raceway just outside Sydney.  With 3 from 5 rounds of qualifying to count, it was 2024 National Champion Nicholson who secured the TQ topping two rounds.  Behind him it was RC Maker’s Jeff Hamon who secured P2, the previous NSW Champion fastest in Q5.  Also racing for RC Maker, young Lincoln Codd took the opening qualifier on his step up to Modified to completed the Top 3 on the grid.  In the finals, Nicholson would win A1 & A2 to lock in the title.  Qualifying P4, RC Maker’s Jeffrey Mackie would win A3 to finish runner up with team-mate Hamon completing the podium from Codd on tie break.  In 13.5 Touring Car, ARC driver Marcus Askell took the title ahead of the Xray of Top Qualifier & National Champion Michael Stone.  Awesomatix driver Tim Hilyear completed the podium.
