Mitch & Hollis win at 2015 Hangin' Judge Classic

The annual Hangin’ Judge Classic held in Fort Smith, Arkansas, saw racers from all over the Southeast come to do battle on the tight and technical track at GS Hobby. Over the last three years the HJC has seen the hobby grow in numbers with lots of new racers taking part. Saturday would start with practice in the morning followed by qualifying that would stretch into the evening. 2WD Modified and 4WD Modified Buggy would be dominated by JR Mitch and Cody Hollis, with JR taking the top spot in 2WD Modfied and Cody taking the TQ in 4WD Modified with JR would also TQ-ing Modified Truck. Sunday was main day, with triple A-mains in the Modified classes. 2WD Mod Buggy would go to Cody Hollis after wins in A1 and A2. JR Mitch would win a deciding A3 in 4WD Mod Buggy to take the win over teammate Cody Hollis. With a win in Mod Truck JR would close out the weekend.

Parnot & Risser win at French 1/10th Off-road Nats Rd3

The third round of the French 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was held in Maison-Alfort in the south-east of Paris. Perfect weather and a superb organisation of the hosting AEC club made for a fun weekend on a UK-style track that offered a new and challenging layout. In the 2WD class local driver Julien Parnot (Schumacher) took the win from Olivier de Montfumat (Schumacher) and Belgian driver Nicolas Risser (Team C). In the 4WD class Nicolas Risser (Team C) came out successful from Matthien Briere (Xray) and Team Associated driver Ludovic Valtier.

Belgian FBA Electric On-road Nationals Rd3 – Report

The third round of the FBA Electric On-road Nationals was held in Bierset with the weather forecast not looking very good for Sunday. In the EFRA class Manuel Henriet managed to take the TQ in front of Olivier Bultynck and Nick Joosens. The opening A-final was held in totally wet conditions and with Olivier and Manu touching each other while Nick jumped into the lead in front of Nicolas. Meanwhile Manu was attacking hard while Olivier broke a tyre and came into the pits. Up front Nicolas was in the lead after he passed Nick and later Manu also found a way past Nick. At the end Nicolas took the win right in front of Manu and Nick.

Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road National Championship was held last weekend at the Real 80 track in Groningen in the North of the Netherlands. The weekend started with free practice on Friday which resumed on Saturday but unfortunately changing weather conditions with some very light rain made for difficult track conditions and a lot of uncertainties in terms of the setup. However on Sunday the weather changed to the better and the race would start as planned. In the 30-minute final of the premier NK class Martin Zevenhoven (Serpent) came out successful from Ad Vissenberg (ARC) and Marcel Schouten who rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Ben has been into RC Racing for 14 years now and therefore his experience is one of his greatest assets, paired with his driving abilities that make him one of the fastest drivers in Australia. Alessio Menicucci joins LRP

Alessio Menicucci joins LRP

LRP have announced the signing of Italian top touring car driver Alessio Menicucci to their team. Despite his young age of 24 Alessio can show an impressive list of achievements including 11 National Championship titles, ETS Stock and Modified A-main appearances as well as EFRA Euros top 20 finishes. Alessio will use LRP’s full line of speedos, motors, batteries and electric equipment in his campaign that will see appearances at the ETS, the Italian UISP and AMSCI Nationals as well as the EFRA Euros.

BIRC Hong Kong Grand Prix – Announcement

The BIRC Hong Kong Grand Prix will be held on the weekend of the 21st of June at the Tom Racing Circuit in the three classes of Modified Touring Car, 13.5T Open Brushless Touring Car and 1/12th Pan Car. The winner of the Modified Touring class will be awarded a flight ticket to the Bangkok International RC Car Championship round in Thailand, held on the 1st and 2nd of August. Simon Kurzbuch wins at Swiss On-road Nats Rd2

Last weekend the second round of the Swiss Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the Aigle track. In 1/8th scale, right from the start on Saturday morning Simon Kurzbuch clocked some good laptimes making him one of the favourites of the weekend. After changing to bi-compound tyres he improved his laptimes even more what resulted in a domination over the whole weekend. In the first qualifier Simon posted the fastest time with an 8 seconds gap to the 2nd placed driver and by doing so, he also set a new lap record of 17.358 seconds. After also winning the third and fourth qualifier Simon started from the 1 spot into the 20 minute semi-final where he again set the fastest time which secured him the pole position for the 45 minute main final in front of Shasa Lackner and Silvio Hächler. Continuing his dominant performance in the main Simon drove a flawless race and he crossed the finish line more than one lap in front of Silvio Hächler, with 3rd placed Christophe Pethoud being another 2 laps down.
