Chris Grainger joins Team Associated

Grainger Associated

Team Associated and CML Distribution have announced the signing of British Touring car ace Chris Grainger. The former Schumacher driver has an exceptional CV including 10 times BRCA National Championships and he is also a multiple European, Worlds, TITC and ETS finalist along with winning many other race victories. A solid and consistent contender in any race he attends, his attention to detail is exceptional and some would say he is almost unstoppable in the UK and his record speaks for itself. He brings with him a wealth of experience and will be the corner stone of a fun, new and exciting team heading into the 2015 season. Chris had this to say:

I’m very excited to be joining Team Associated for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Some of my fondest memories from the early days of Touring Cars were racing a TC3 and working with Mike Reedy at the track. I’m looking forward to being part of that team again and working with them throughout the races ahead. I’d like to thank everyone at Team Associated and CML Distribution who have made this possible. Bring on 2015!

2015 2nd Annual Hang Over Race Report

2015 2nd Annual Hang Over Race Report

On January 3rd, 2015, Fourseason’s Raceway in Olypmia, Washington hosted the 2nd annual e1D ‘Hang Over’ race and this year’s event definitely lived up to all the hype. Building upon last year’s success with entries numbers up 30+, a better track design that’s uber challenging, and mix in higher level of competition, the e1D Hang Over race was a complete success in all areas. On top of all that, what makes the Hang Over race unique from other races is the ‘Champion’s Cup’ race at the very end. Not only do all racers get to run 3 quals and single 8 minute mains to decide class champions, but after all the A-mains are finished the top 2 winners in each class will throw down in a 30 lap stagger started race. The handicap is calculated by taking the class winner’s top 15 lap avg. and multiplying it by 30 to give us the spread. The idea of this exciting format is to potentially allow the elite 2 from all the different classes to all battle on the last lap. Although, with each driver having their own strategy and incidents on the racetrack, makes it impossible to predict who’s going to win the race.

Ari Heinonen moves to Agama for 2015

Nemo Racing have announced that top Finnish racer Ari Heinonen will be running the new Agama A215 Buggy in 2015. After coming to the UK for a test session with Darren Bloomfield, Ari was delighted with the performance of the new car and took only a few days to decide that he wanted to be part of the Nemo Racing family in 2015. Having set some stunning times at the Euros in 2014, he was unlucky to not make the main final as his pace was clearly good enough for such a top result. To complete his race package, Ari will use Bullitt engines, Beta tyres & accessories and Piranha Fuel.
