EFRA Grand Prix Prague 2008

The organisers of the EFRA Grand Prix Prague for 1:10 Electric Touring Car have contacted us with details of the 2008 Czech Republic event.  Won last year by factory Kyosho driver Steen Graversen from Denmark, the GP which first ran in 2002 will again take part in the Sport Centre in Brandýs nad Labem.  In addition to the Modified class, which has attracted top names such as former World Champion Marc Rheinard, Jilles Groskamp (pictured above winning the event), Steven Wiess and the now retired Andreas Myrberg, the event will again run a Pro Stock Division following on from its successful introduction last year. Grand Prix Prague, the final event on the 2008 EFRA calendar, takes place on November 28-30 and entries can be made through the event website.

Rheinard & Stocker victorious at ETS Rd1

Marc Rheinard and Alexander Stocker are the first winners of the 2008/2009 Much More backed Euro Touring Series, winning the opening round in Kastellaun, Germany after the fight for top honours went down to the third A Main in both categories. Wood is British 1/8th Champion

Tim Wood (pictured on podium at Round 7) is the new British National 1:8 Champion after atrocious weather conditions at the weekend caused the cancellation of the ninth and final round of the BRCA championship at the Adur track which is situated on the south coast of England.  The Team Serpent UK driver, who won three rounds this year, only had one challenger to the title in team-mate Mark Green who had two to his credit but the weather meant they didn’t get to go head to head for the title.  This is Green’s, a member of the Serpent factory team, second National defeat by a younger driver as last month he lost out on the 1:10 200mm title to emerging young talent Kyle Branson.

15-year-old Max Claes wins Belgian title

He is only racing two and a half years but 15-year-old Max Claes has taken his first National title winning the 1/10 200mm T2 Belgian Championship at the final round at the Charleroi track over the weekend. Racing in very poor weather conditions, Max took TQ honours for the championship finale with his Serpent 720.  Starting from the No.1 spot on the grid a wrong tyre choice meant the up and coming young talent was unable to challenge for his third win of the season but finishing fifth was enough for him to claim his first ever National first title from Renaud Gysemberghs. Over the championship Max claimed two victories and four podium placings and the new champion is already looking forward for to new challenges next year. In true champion style Max thanked his dad Alain and Jan de Pooter from RC Car Colours for their support during his successful campaign.
