Kalinowski wins Rd3 German 1/10th West

Kalinowski wins Rd3 German 1/10th West

Last weekend saw the 3rd round of the 1/10th 200mm West German Regionals held at the Megadrom Geilenkirchen, in the very West of Germany. Saturday saw only rain and so the 34 drivers present at the event got no practice and had to wait until Sunday to attack the track. After the qualifying it was Serpent racer Markus Mobers that had claimed the pole position for the main final ahead of Mugen racers Rene Püpke and Dominik Reschke. In the race Markus could lead easily until his engine flamed out during a pit stop, handing the lead to Mugen racer Heinz Jürgen Kalinowski who took the win from a recovering Mobers, with Rene Püpke in 3rd.

XRAY Column – XT8 Truggy

Xray Column

The 9th installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj takes about the development of the newly released XT8 truggy and the work that went into producing this car, from concept, to testing, to final production as well as the many setbacks on the way to market.

Having most of the parts finished and ready for the release for spring, we were hit with some very annoying bad news – the market standard for the truggy class had developed significantly within the last year, including the requirements for a 150cc fuel tank. Again we were faced with another difficult decision… either release the XT8 with the planned buggy fuel tank (120cc capacity) which would cause some negative feedback, or delay the project again and make a completely new mould for a larger fuel tank.
