Carl Groessel wins at Swiss EP On-road finale

The AMCS Schaffhausen club played host to the final round of the Swiss Electric On-road Nationals this past weekend. Carl Friedrich Groessel took the overall Touring Modified TQ, scoring two round wins, leaving behind Michele Manzo and Fabian Widmer, who posted a round TQ each, in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The opening A-main then again saw Carl Friedrich on top with Michele in 2nd only a couple of seconds behind. A2 in return had Michele taking the win with Fabian in 2nd, meaning the podium would be decided in the third and final A-main. In the end of an ultra close race it was Carl with the win some 0.6 seconds in front of Michele while Fabian came in 3rd only 0.9 seconds behind. This meant Car Friedrich would take the win with Michele in 2nd and Fabian in 3rd.

Jake Mayo successful at Race for Desi event

Ride Up HobbyTown of Palm Desert, California held the Race for Desi event this past weekend, attracting nearly 120 entries to compete for the good cause. In the 2WD Mod Buggy class it was Yokomo’s Andrew Swanson with the overall TQ from TLR’s own Frank Root in 2nd. After the single 7-minute A-main event however it was Xray’s Jake Mayo with the overall win a lap in front of Frank as Andrew had to settle for 3rd overall, just 0.4 seconds behind Frank.

Dominic Bauer takes Austrian Nitro Buggy title

The A-Team Graz club played host to the final round of the Austrian Nitro Off-road championship this past weekend. In the Nitro Buggy class, that was rain affected at times, it was Jürgen Trieb with the overall TQ, tie on points with Martin Seethaler who had to settle for 2nd after the tie-breaker. In the 45-minute A-main event, it was semifinal winner, Dominic Bauer, who would take the win after leading from tone-to-tone, with the victory also handing Dominic the overall Austrian Nitro Buggy title. Jürgen Trieb would end the main final in 2nd, a lap down as Patrick Schweinzer came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Joe Pillars wins at Legends Of The Fall Series Rd2

The second round of the Legends Of The Fall Series, held at PDX Underground in Portland, Oregon, was held this past Saturday, attracting nearly 60 entries. In the 2WD Mod Buggy class it was Joe Pillars with the overall TQ and also the win in the 5-minute A-main, a lap in front of Kevin Focht. Brian Stromberg came in 3rd just 0.2s behind Kevin.

Leo Arnold takes French 200mm Nitro Touring title

The final round of the French IC Track Nationals was held at the Automodelisme Club de Tours track this past weekend. In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class it was Xray’s Leo Arnold with the overall TQ and he would also come out on top in the A-main, making it a perfect sweep this season with four TQs and four wins which would ultimately hand him the national championship title. Capricorn’s Kevin Rasquin came in 2nd at the fifth and final round as Xray’s Michael Derderian came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Renaud Savoya wins challenging French Buggy Nats Rd4

Round 4 of the French Nitro Buggy Nationals was held this past weekend at the CMLP track in Le Pin. Vincent Meertens took the overall TQ from Renaud Savoya, however in the 45-minute main final, that was held under rainy weather conditions, it was TLR’s Renaud Savoya who would bring home the win in front of TLR teammate, Jordan Lot as Kyosho’s Rayan Medjoubi came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Masami Hirosaka leaves Yokomo after 30 years

In what sounds a bit of a shock announcement, record IFMAR World Champion, multi-time Japanese National Champion and all-time RC icon, Masami Hirosaka has announced his departure from long-time sponsors Yokomo. Being with the Japanese company for 30 years now, Masami has taken to social media that he will leave Yokomo effectively today, September 30th, following the retirement of company founder Tom Yokobori. Masami and mechanic Masaaki have won countless national and international titles campaigning Yokomo cars, with Masami being the company’s main brand representative after his official retirement from racing, a couple of years ago. For now Masami leaves open what comes next for him.
