SWorkz sign Martin Wollanka

SWorkz have announced the signing of Austrian frontrunner, Martin Wollanka to their team. The former European vice-champion, multi-time Euros A-finalist and multi-time Austrian champion will race SWorkz cars in 1/8th and 1/10th off-road classes from now on. The former long-time Xray driver has the following to say:

I am very happy to switch into the SWorkz team where I get full support and respect. The cars are really fast with many smart details. I will race 1/8 and 1/10 class. And I am sure we will do even better in 2018. See you on the track.

Pillars appointed Muchmore Racing USA team manager

Muchmore Racing have announce that they have signed Joe Pillars as their USA team manager. Joe was the long-time USA Team Orion team manager until the end of 2017 and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and success and Muchmore are very excited he has joined their team beginning in 2018. Joe says:

I am very happy to join Muchmore Racing and help expand the brand here in the USA. I would like to thank Yusuke Kobayashi and Ji-Hyun Jang for this great opportunity! It will also be great working with long time friends Ryan Cavalieri & Marc Rheinard in which we had a lot of success in the past! Sunpadow International Offroad GP – Announcement

The 2018 Sunpadow International Offroad GP will be held from March 16th to 18th at the ARC International RC Car race track in Xiamen, China. The event will see 1/8th nitro and electric buggy racing on a redesigned track. Registration is now open and all information can be found on the official event website here.

Adam Drake joins PR Racing 1/10th off-road team

PR Racing have announce that Adam Drake will be joining their team for the upcoming 2018 season. Adam will be racing 1/10th scale electric and help with R&D on all platforms but mostly the SB401 LW 4WD buggy platform while also campaigning the company’s PRS1V3 TypeR 2WD buggy. Along with his five Roar National Championships Adam brings a ton of experience in racing, building and designing which he currently also does for Mugen Seiki Racing in the 1/8th off-road categories.

Robert Batlle signs with Hot Race Tyres

Hot Race Tyres from Italy have announced the signing of reigning EFRA European 1/8th Nitro Buggy Champion, Robert Batlle to their team. The Spanish Mugen driver has inked a 2-years contract and while running their products at events around the world, he will also assist with product development as well as being the new Hot Race Tyres distributor for Spain. Robert says:

It is an honour to let you know that I will be part of HotRace team for the upcoming years! When I tested the tires I got really surprise about the speed and consistency they have, also because of the passion Nicola put into the development of the tires, I love the way he works so I just can say yes to his project! Power HD sign Christopher Krapp

Servo manufacturer Power HD has announced the signing of German driver Christopher Krapp to their team. This multi-time IFMAR World Championship finalist will use Power HD servos in his future onroad and offroad campaigns, including the ETS, EOS, European Championship, World Championship and more International and National events as well as assist Power HD in servo research and development. Christopher had the following to say:

I am happy to announce to represent the Power HD brand from now on. They have a series of first class products to support my racing in the onroad and offroad category. I want to thank especially Harma Ye for this opportunity and I can’t wait to use all their servos and help to make them even better.

Milan Mudra sweeps a round of the Lestr Cup

A round of the Czech-based Lestr Cup was held recently and it was Xray’s Milan Mudra who took double TQs and wins in both the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes. Václav Brož (Xray) came in 2nd in the 2WD category from Kyosho’s Jan Kapička in 3rd. Over in 4WD it was Jiří Dvořák (Xray) and Fanda Kalenda (Serpent) who completed the podium results.

Shepherd sign Tim Wood

Shepherd have announced the signing of current UK Champion Tim Wood to their 1/8th on-road team. The former Serpent UK driver will be working closely with the Shepherd factory team at selected European races such as the ENS, EFRA GP and Euros whilst also representing Shepherd at the UK Nationals. A 5-times UK National Champion, Multiple Euro B finalist, and Euro A semi-finalist in 1/8th and 1/10th classes as well as 5th Place pre-worlds finisher, Tim will campaign the latest Velox V8 WC Team Edition at all races in 2018. Tim says:

First I want to sincerely thank Serpent for all their help & support since I started RC Racing. I am delighted to now join Team Shepherd and want to thank Patrick Schafer & all at Shepherd for this great opportunity. My mechanic Nicola & I are very excited and look forward to working with this great team in 2018.
