Brandon Rose sweeps 2020 January Jam

Flowood Indoor R/C Park of Flowood, Mississippi held the 2020 January Jam this past weekend with nearly 190 entries for the several nitro and electric off-road classes. In the Expert Nitro Buggy class it was Agama pilot Brandon Rose with the overall TQ and he also came out on top in the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Kody Watson (JQ Racing) in 2nd, two laps behind. Cameron Breaux (HB Racing) would round out the top 3 result anther two laps down. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was again Brandon with the overall win after coming out on top in A1 and A2 while A2 winner, Cameron Breaux took the runner-up spot.

John Ermen wins at Indoor 2020 Saint Brieuc

The Saint Brieuc Mini Bolides club hosted the Indoor 2020 Saint Brieuc race this past weekend. The event was held in 1/8th and 1/10th nitro on-road as well as an 1/8th electric classes and in 1/8th IC Track it was John Ermen (ARC) with the overall TQ some 0.9 seconds in front of Richard Volta (Mugen). The 30-minute saw John opening a gap from the get go and by the second fuel stop, he already was in the lead by about half a lap. However shortly after the second stop John faced some mechanical issues which reduced his lead and after two unplanned stops he lost more than one lap on the lead car. In the second half of the race Ermen was able to up his pace again and to un-lap himself, chasing down the leader. Ultimately John was able to regain the lead with Richard Volta having to settle for 2nd overall, a lap behind. Rick Vrielijnck (Infinity) came in 3rd, another lap down.

Carten M210 series front bumper

Carten RC have announced the release of their new large foam front bumper for the M210 series of MTC chassis. The most voluminous yet, the bumper is ideal for touring car body shells with a longer front overhang, doing away with the need to use additional foam pieces to bolster up the body in order to prevent vibrations and improve the aerodynamic efficiency. The touring bumper adds to the already existing sedan medium and hatchback small front foam bumpers.

Vincent K. wins at 1/8th GT GQ Cup

The TRC track in Hong Kong played host to the 1/8th scale GT GQ Cup this past weekend. When the dust had settled it was the Hong Nor trio of Vincent K., Ka Wah and Cheung Kwok Wai who took the top 3 honours after the 40-minute A-main final.

Hudy 70mm to 140mm off-road droop gauge

Hudy have introduced their new 70mm to 140mm droop gauge for 1/8th and 1/10th scale off-road cars. The professional droop gauge makes it easy to check and adjust the suspension droop in a range of 70mm up to 140mm by simply sliding the tool on the upper shock mount nut and reading the droop value using the lower shock mount screw. Machined from aluminium and coming black anodised and with laser-etched scales and logos, the gauge is easy to read and it is usable with all 1/8th and 1/10th scale off-road cars.

Xray Racing Series Germany Rd4 – Report

Round 4 of the Xray Racing Series Germany was held in Leipzig recently. The event saw the running of several electric on-road classes and in Touring FWD it was Stefan Schulz with the overall win from Sven Muller in 2nd and Michael Klaus in 3rd.

Touring Stock saw Stefan Schulz walking away with the win from Tim Schulte in 2nd and Michael Zierold in 3rd while in the Touring 17.5T class Peter Stein took the day’s win from Julius Stein on the runner-up spot as Mirko Schulze completed the top 3 results.

The Formula class had Andreas Beier taking the win from Enrico Hahn 2nd and Sebastian Keller in 3rd.

Lastly in the 1/12th scale pan car class Dirk Brauer took the win from Philipp Lischke 2nd and Christopher Bergholz 3rd.

Lit R/C 8ight-X 5mm carbon fibre rear tower

Coming from Lit R/C Products and made for the TLR 8ight-X 1/8th scale buggy is a 5mm carbon fibre rear shock tower. The shock stay is machined out of matte 3k twill carbon in 5mm thickness and the geometry for the rear tower is the same as the stock kit tower, but has a thicker and stronger outer profile to be more durable. The lightweight tower also has small chamfered edges to help prevent delamination and in addition, Lit added more outer camber link positions with +10mm wing mounting positions to raise the stock wing mount.

Yeah Racing 1.9” crawler aluminium wheel set

Yeah Racing have introduced their new aluminium wheel set for 1.9” crawlers and trail trucks. Utilising CNC-machined 5-spoke aluminium beadlock rims and performance crawler tyres, the wheel set is usable with a wide range of trucks as it uses standard 12mm wheel hex adapters. Also included in the 4-wheel set are suitable inserts.
