2018 Sunpadow On-Road Grand Prix – Report

The Annual Sunpadow On-Road Grand Prix held in Xiamen, China recently saw over 220 drivers competing in electric and nitro classes. The prize money race has become the premier event in Asia, attracting some of the top drivers from around the world. This year’s turnout was the largest in the race’s three year history, organisers expect next year to be even bigger. Greiner to defend title from 4th in Miami

Dominic Greiner will defend his 1:10 200mm World title from 4th on the grid in Miami later this evening. Starting second in the Semi finals, the Serpent driver maintained that position behind pole man Naoto Matsukura to progress to the 1-hour main event at Homestead RC Raceway. In the first of the two Semi finals, it was Tadahiko Sahashi who took the win ahead of Jilles Groskamp and Kyle Branson. Another TQ run from Balestri in Florida

…been disqualified from Q1 after setting the fourth fastest time, Shoki Takahata would keep his time this time round to complete the Top 3. P2 in the first round, an early mistake put Naoto Matsukura out of contention while Top Seed Lamberto Collari continued to have engine issues only this time they meant he did not even take the start. For reigning champion Dominic Greiner it was to be another 4th for the round with improvements from Toni Gruber and Jilles Groskamp seeing them complete the Top 6. Jilles Groskamp inks deal with ORCA

ORCA have announced the signing of Dutch on-road frontrunner, Jilles Groskamp to their factory team. The former IFMAR Electric Touring World Champion and long-time Team Orion factory driver will use ORCA brushless motors, speed controllers and batteries from now on while also helping with the development of future products. Infinity IF15 front upper suspension shaft E-ring type

Having just claimed the 2018 Euro Nitro Series title with Jilles Groskamp, Infinity has released a new front upper suspension shaft for its IF15 200mm nitro touring car. With firm fixing both ends of the shaft, an E-ring one end and a stopper on the opposite end, the new shaft is designed to give added security against vibrations during long finals. Greiner wins but Groskamp crowned ENS Champion with P2

Dominic Greiner did exactly what was asked of him at the season finale of the Infinity Euro Nitro Series securing the TQ and the win in Fiorano but a strategic drive to second place by Jilles Groskamp sees him crowned the 2018 Champion. The Infinity driver came into the weekend leading the points with Greiner his only challenger for the overall title. Title ‘still alive’ as Greiner secures TQ at ENS Italy

Dominic Greiner’s hopes of a first Euro Nitro Series title are ‘still alive’ after the Serpent driver secured the overall TQ in the fourth & final round of qualifying in Fiorano, Italy. Needing the bonus championship point so as to start the final with a chance denying championship leader Jilles Groskamp his second title, Greiner took Q4 by over 1.3-seconds from Alessio Mazzeo. Leino takes penultimate qualifier at ENS Italy

Teemu Leino has taken the penultimate round of qualifying at the Infinity Euro Nitro Series finale in Italy. The Infinity driver lead a 1-2 for the team with championship leader Jilles Groskamp also putting in his best performance of qualifying so far. Leino was a full 1-second clear at the top of the times with Alessio Mazzeo completing the Top 3. Having dominated the top of the times sheets in practice and the opening two qualifiers Dominic Greiner would end up fourth but still looks firmly on target for the overall TQ he needs to challenge Groskamp for the title…
