Hayato Ishioka crowned 2019 Speed King

The final round of the 2019 Speed King Tour was held at the SRT Sagami do racing track in the Kanagawa prefecture. The track’s layout suits both 1/8th and 1/10th nitro cars which makes for real high speed battles in the 1/10th electric touring classes. Yokomo driver Hayato Ishioka showed his speed right from the get go as he took the overall TQ after the three rounds of qualifying, however another Yokomo driver, Souta Goto took the pole position after wining the “Super Lap” session.

SMJ Kabuto Spec2 1/8th on-road exhaust set

Coming from SMJ is their new Kabuto Spec2 exhaust set for 1/8th on-road racing. It makes use of an O.S. based T2080 pipe and an MR02 manifold which results in increased torque in the low to mid RPM range. Included in the set comes all needed mounting hardware such as springs and silicone gaskets.

ONE 5-port .21 GT engine

Capricorn have introduced the new ONE 5-port .21 engine for 1/8th nitro GT cars. The O.S. based engine was slightly modified to further increase its performance with a hand-tuned crankshaft, a different piston and liner combination with updated timing, as well as a new combustion camber insert helping to extract maximum performance from the power plant. The engine is available as tuned version only and it is up for grabs now.

Avid XB2C & XB2D 2020 bearing kits

Avid have announced the release of their new ball bearing kits for the Xray XB2C and XB2D 2020 2WD buggies. The range includes the Essential bearing kit, the XB2C and XB2C 2020 full bearing kits as well as the Aura Ceramic gearbox, Aura Ceramic hub and Aura Ceramic full bearing sets. The standard bearing kits are further customisable using Avid’s FlexKit software.

Swiss Indoor Championship Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Swiss Indoor Championship was held at the FAMA Hobby Fair in Bulle, Switzerland last weekend, attracting 75 entires for the 1/10th and 1/12th on-road classes. The organisers laid out a fast and tricky layout using ETS carpet and in Touring ProStock it was young and talented Briac Berthoud who took the overall TQ spot and also the overall win in front of Darko Meister and Marco Rizzo in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Schumacher Eclipse 3 1/12th pan car kit

Schumacher have launched their new Eclipse 3 1/12th scale pan car kit. It features a radical new look, full length carbon fibre top deck and chassis, tweak free battery mounting system and tweak-free centre pivot design. Building on the international success of the Eclipse 2 platform, with its European Stock Championship and Modified Vice Championship, the Eclipse 3 takes LMP12 racing another huge leap forward. New features include hard-anodised alloy hub carriers, ceramic-coated kingpins, a new camber strap design, a redesigned bumper mount, longer side links, thread inserts for easier working on the car, and a new centre damping geometry. The quality, ease of assembly and build process have also been improved, to offer excellent durability and rapid lap times. In the hands of Olly Jefferies the prototype Eclipse 3 has won three of the four BRCA Nationals it has competed in this season.

Infinity IF18 Multi Flex chassis

Infinity has released a new Multi Flex chassis for their IF18. Used by the team’s driver at the 2019 World Championships where the car secured the TQ and Super Pole, the chassis offers increased corner speed while also offering a smoother feel. This has been achieved by changing the shape of both the front and the rear of the chassis. It is also possible to change the characteristics for different track conditions by adding a separately sold carbon plate to increase rigidity of the front section and adding an M3 screw to the rear.

Ruddog High Voltage standard size servos

Ruddog Distribution have introduced their new line of High Voltage standard size servos. First up are the RCL1608 HV Coreless High Speed (0.08s/18kg-cm) and RCL2210 HV Coreless High Torque (0.10s/22kg-cm) servos, both of which feature heavy duty composite material upper and lower cases combined with a machined heatsink design centre section. The result are exceptionally strong yet lightweight cases as titanium gear trains add to the overall durability while offering a very low weight. Other features include a coreless motor for speed and strength, 25T spline output gears as well as 180mm all-black receiver wires.
