Tamiya introduce first TRF420 optionals

Tamiya have announced the soon release of first optional parts for the TRF420 touring car. First up is a 2.0mm aluminium lower deck that is best used on high-grip surfaces such as carpet or prepped asphalt. The chassis features herringbone-shaped cut-outs for optimised flex and it comes black anodised for wear and looks. Also new is a 1.75mm carbon fibre upper deck. 0.25mm thinner than the standard 2.0mm part, the flex upper deck is best used in combination with the above aluminium chassis or when additional torsional chassis flex is needed when using the kit standard carbon fibre chassis. Last but not least come the AC suspension bushing inserts. A standard part in the TRF419 suspension conversion kit the AC bushings are an optional part for the TRF420 with the directed bushings allowing to utilise more inward or more outward lower shock mounting positions in order to fine-tune the suspension geometry. The bushings come blue anodised, laser-engraved and in sets of two.

Klinik RC wireless transmitter charging system

Klinik RC have introduced their are wireless transmitter charging system for Futaba, KO Propo and Sanwa transmitters. Designed to work with the most common transmitters on the market, Klinik RC have started with a blank slate and spent several months developing the correct charging pad, receiver coil and micro chip processors for safe, reliable and true balance charging. The designers engineered the charging coil to the smallest sizes possible. Measuring less than 1mm thick over most of the surface ensures it will fit very easily inside any battery compartment. The radio can easily stay topped off during any race day simply by placing on the pad between heats. Installation takes only a few minutes on average with no tools required. All that is needed is an available USB charge port, featured on most chargers and power supplies today, and a balance plug when using a 2S LiPo system. The charging system will work with all common transmitter batteries on the market regardless of capacity, all that is required is a battery with a standard JST-XH balance plug.

Venables & Brown win at EssexCarpetClash Rd2

Round two of EssexCarpetClash took place last weekend, with a good entry level of some very competitive drivers, 2WD being an oversubscribed class. 4WD saw Stephen Brown pick up where he left off from round 1, securing his pole position taking three of the four rounds of qualifying. Finals also went Brown’s way, by taking the first two leg wins, giving him the overall win for the day. It was then down to who would complete the podium and in which order. John Painter had looked fast all day and lined up 2nd of the grid with a chasing Lee Hedges on 3rd. After the 3-leg finals – and with Brown not participating in the 3rd – where tight close battles took place on track in all legs, the podium would conclude the same as the grid start with Stephen Brown on top followed by John Painter and Lee Hedges.

JConcepts Landmines 1.9” performance scaler tyre

Coming from JConcepts is their all-new Landmines 1.9” performance scaler tyre. The tyre, developed over a 2-year period of testing, tuning and analysis have reached the summit and now available to the crawling enthusiast. The design starts with a robust carcass carefully shaped and sized for a multitude of conditions and capable of completing those difficult courses while being down-to-earth enough to carry a scale appearance. The team spent considerable time with the split-block centre design which has been sliced, stepped and recessed for flexibility and contortion over sharp, loose and polished surfaces. The Landmines have alternating solid and cavity pads which is ideal for transitioning from smooth dirt or pavement into dirt, mud and rocky terrain. Moving toward the edges of the carcass, the scaling tyre has horizontal grippy pads with edge and channels to provide additional forward climbing bite. Down within the tread, a lightning pattern, knob plots and connector bars pull the design together to work together at shallow and deep sinking positions. Once power is applied to the vehicle, the tread spacing opens which allows for deep digging, making it a great working tyre in dirt and muddy conditions. As the tread rolls down the sidewall, a whole new course of tread and side-lugging is applied. A grippy radial ring provides a consistent rubber contact patch in pinched conditions while in the vertical plane, new traction bars alternate between angular and island mapping for squeeze grip. The flexibility of the green compound combined with the lug arrangement gives the tire a grippy feel but still maintains that all important scale and performance look. The overall height provides plenty of ground clearance for an abundance of terrain and bossed side-wall logos read with beauty and balance. The tyres include a soft open cell foam insert capable of standing up to the super soft compound but flexible enough for sharp terrain.
