Naoto Matsukura wins at International Nitro Grand Prix

The RCMC Singapore club held the Infinity International Nitro Grand Prix last weekend, attracting some of the World’s fastest nitro on-road drivers. The event was held in 1/8th and 1/5th scale classes and saw Infinity’s Jesse Davis taking the overall TQ from Infinity teammate, Naoto Matsukura in 2nd. The 45-minute main final then was a pretty close affair with Naoto taking the win by less than a second from veteran racer, Infinity’s Alberto Picco while Rick Vrielijnck (Infinity) came in 3rd, some nine laps down, to round out the podium result in 3rd.

Hächler & Scherer win at Swiss IC Track Nats Rd5

The fifth and final round of the Swiss IC Track Nationals was held at the challenging MRC Langenthal track last weekend. In the premier 1/8th IC Track class it was Shepherd’s Simon Kurzbuch with a clean sweep after the qualifiers to take the overall TQ from ARC’s Silvio Hächler. In the 45-minute A-main however it was Silvio who turned the page, taking the win with a 1-lap margin from Simon Kurzbuch while Xray’s Mattia Pesenti came in 3rd to round out the podium. Overall in the Championship his 2nd place finish was enough for Simon Kurzbuch to bring home the overall title from Xray’s Luca Martinelli in 2nd and Mattia Pesenti, who attended only four races, in 3rd.

2019 BuggyCup Rd6 – Report

Round 6 of the BuggyCup was held at the Raco2000 track in Utrecht, The Netherlands last weekend. In the Nitro Sportsman class it was Jeffrey Halsema (Team Associated/Maxima) with the win from Colin Meijer (Serpent/Reds Racing) in 2nd and Anne Storm (JQRacing/Bullitt) who would round out the podium in 3rd.

Joe Bornhorst doubles at East Coast Race Against Cancer

LCRC Raceway of Oakland Mills, Pennsylvania held the 2019 East Coast Race Against Cancer last weekend, attracting over 400 entries. The Expert Nitro Buggy class was TQ’d by HB Racing’s Jason Schreffler, however in the 25-minute A-main event it was 2nd place qualifier, Tekno RC’s Joe Bornhorst with the win a lap in front of Tekno RC’s Jared Wiggins while Team Associated’s Jamie Greyek came in 3rd to round out the podium another eleven seconds behind. TQ Jason Schreffler had to settle for 4th overall.

Adam Drake wins at Revelation Raceway Club race

Revelation Raceway held their September Club race last weekend, attracting nearly 60 entries. In Open Nitro Buggy it was Mugen’s Adam Drake with the overall TQ and he also came out on top after the 20-minute A-main event, leaving behind Xray’s Tommy Montague in 2nd, a lap down. Only 5.6 seconds behind, it was Mugen’s Ronda Drake with a 3rd place finish to round out the podium result.

Kyosho Psycho Kruiser VE 2.0 RTR monster truck

Coming soon from Kyosho is their new Psycho Kruiser VE 2.0 1/8th electric brushless monster truck. Utilising design features known from the World Championship winning Inferno platform, the truck utilises a 3-diff shaft-driven drivetrain with hardened gears, front and rear universal driveshafts as well as full ball bearings. The reinforced suspension components and big bore threaded aluminium shock absorbers are keeping the tyres in the ground when the going gets tough while the Kyosho Speed House Torx8 2000vK brushless motor allows for speeds of up to 80km/h when using a 6S LiPo battery pack. The ready-to-run package is rounded out by a 2.4GHz Syncro KT-231P+ transmitter and a water-proof steering servo.

DJ Apolaro takes ROAR 1/8th IC Track National title

Last weekend’s 2019 ROAR Nitro On-road Nationals, held at the Toledo One Eighth Racers, saw Capricorn’s DJ Apolaro walking away with the win in the 1/8th Open class. DJ snatched the overall TQ after the qualifiers and he also came out on top in the ultra-close 30-minute A-main event that had Paolo Morganti (Capricorn) finish in 2nd, only 6.6 seconds behind DJ while Serpent’s Joaquin Desoto came in 3rd to round out the top 3 just 0.052 seconds behind Paolo.

Kyosho seal cartridge & turnbuckle wrench

Kyosho have announced the soon release of their new shock seal cartridge and turnbuckle wrench specially made for their Ultima RB7 and Lazer ZX7 buggies. The tool, that is machined from aluminium and that comes with an anodised surface finish for wear and looks, will help with shock building, maintenance and setup as it helps to fasten or loosen the lower seal cartridge cap more easily and conveniently. In addition the compact tool features 3.5mm and 5.5mm turnbuckle wrenches for toe and camber setting changes on the fly.
