Harley Yoshii doubles at Northwest Gold Cup

Tacoma RC Raceway of Tacoma, Washington hosed the 2019 Northwest Gold Cup last weekend, attracting nearly 175 entries for the Modified and Stock 1/10th scale off-road classes. In the highly contested 4WD and 2WD Modified Buggy classes it was Harley Yoshii (Yokomo/Muchmore/JConcepts) with the double overall TQ and win. In 4WD the win didn’t came easy though as Harley suffered a DNF in A2, however with 1st place finishes in A1 and A3 Yoshii sealed the bag to take the overall from Dalton Pierce (Yokomo/Muchmore/JConcepts) 2nd and Tyler Miller (Team Associated/Reedy/JConcepts) in 3rd. Over in 2WD Modified Buggy Harley made a clean sweep in A1 and A2 for the early overall as Mikey Brown (Team Associated/Muchmore/JConcepts) and Dalton Pierce (Yokomo/Muchmore/JConcepts) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

T-Works 150mm 1/10th & 1/8th car stand

Coming from T-Works is their new 150mm long car stand for 1/10th and 1/8th scale vehicles. Made from sturdy metal the car stand features laser-etched and also machined T-Works logos for brand recognition and a low weight, as well as up to eight holes to take shock absorbers during building, maintenance and setup. Two foam strips ensure the chassis rests securely on top of the stand and without harming the car stand itself or the lower side of the chassis plate.

Marko Grigic wins IFMAR Large Scale World Championship

The 2019 IFMAR Large Scale World Championship was held in Villa Real, Portugal last week. The organising club AMVR ensured perfect conditions for the 85 pilots that gathered from 19 countries. The TQ went to Markus Feldmann with the Superpole being won by Alessio Mazzeo. The A-main final saw a lot of position changes in the first half of the race, however it was Marko Grigic who opted for a very late pit stop in the first half and from there he never looked back to take the win after the 60-minute race, becoming the first Croatian IFMAR World Champion. Alessio Mazzeo came in 2nd, some ten seconds behind as Marko Weigerding rounded out the top 3 a lap down.

Wahl, Lauter & Stocker win at Pegasus Masters

The city of Piding in the southern part of Germany played host to the 9th RT Pegasus Masters last weekend. The event was held in several electric on-road classes including Touring Modified, Stock and FWD classes. In Touring Modified it was Tim Wahl with the overall TQ after a nearly clean sweep in the qualifiers, winning four of the five qualifiers, leaving behind Q3 top qualifier Marco Kaufmann in 2nd. The finals then saw another dominant performance of Tim who left behind Simon Lauter in 2nd as Marco Kaufmann ended in 3rd overall.

Roger Eifler wins at Swiss EP On-road Nationals Rd5

The 5th and final round of the Swiss Electric On-road Nationals was held at the AMCS track in Schaffhausen recently. In the SwissGT pan car class it was Roger Eifler with the overall TQ and also the win in all A-main finals, making it a clean sweep. A2 and A3 saw Andi Frattaroli and Roland Wild in exciting slipstream battles for the runner-up spot with Andi ultimately holding the upper hand over Roland. Already Swiss SwissGT champion going into round 5, Roger cemented his dominant performance this year by also winning the season finale.

2019 International Indoor Championships – Report

The 2019 Edition of the Annual International Indoor Championships were held at 702 RC Raceway in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend. As usual the event attracted both national and international drivers with this year’s race drawing over 170 entries. In the Modified Touring class it was Alexander Hagberg who would lead the way but 2nd place qualifier Brandon Clements was putting on a formidable challenge. Able to see Hagberg just a few turns ahead of him, Clements threw down excellent and super consistent runs being 4-tenths of each other to score him a solid overall second place. The rest of the pack had assorted finishing positions and times that it had to go to the scoring cards with Drew Ellis emerging as the overall as the overall all third place finisher.

Tamiya introduce new TB-05 aluminium optionals

Tamiya have introduced new aluminium option parts for the TB-05 range of on-road cars. First up is an adjustable Ackermann set that allows to fine-tune the steering geometry in order to achieve different amounts of steering aggressiveness. A replacement for the standard moulded plastic T5, T6 and T7 parts, the alloy equivalents allow to mimic the standard geometry as well as accessing a more aggressive setting, with improved initial steering response, as well as an intermediate setting, ranging between normal and aggressive steering. Included in the set come steering bellcranks, a steering bridge as well as three different spacers along ball bearings and shims. The alloy parts are machined from high-quality aluminium and they come blue anodised for wear and looks.
