Berton to race on OGO Racing tyres

Having announced his departure from racing on tyres from Italian manufacturer Hotrace Tyres at the end of last month,  2019 European 1:8 Nitro Buggy Champion Riccardo Berton has announced he is race with tyres from Spanish brand OGO Racing.  Part of Infinity’s ongoing 1:8 Buggy project, the Italian has agreed a 2-year deal that will see him use OGO tyres on his 1:8 Buggy and Truggy vehicles.  Thanking OGO for the opportunity, on social media the 24-year-old said, ‘Extremely happy to join OGO Racing tyres for the new season! Thank you.’

T-Works Tire Punch Tool Punch Head Set

T-works has brought out a Punch Head Set for use on tyre punches available from 6Mik and HB Racing.  The set offers 3, 3.5, and 4mm punch holes which can be screwed onto the tyre punch as required.  Intended for buggy tyre use, each size of the steel punches is also available individually with them utilising a the thread size of M8 x P1.25.

‘Little Bump’ Nguyen joins Schumacher for 1:10 Offroad

Continuing to build up its US team for the 2024 season, Schumacher Racing has announced up & coming talent Phi-Long Nguyen is to join its 1:10 Offroad team.  Commonly known as ‘Little Bump, Nguyen who is just 12-years-old will be running both the CAT L1R and Cougar LD3 in Offroad as well as the Mi8 in Onroad too.  Having signed for a 1:8 programme with Kyosho America last month, he is in for busy season as he coming to establish himself at the sharp end of racing.  Commenting on the announcement with Schumacher Phi-Long and his dad said, “We are absolutely super excited and honoured to pilot these awesome cars around the track, great times are ahead racing for Schumacher. A big thank you to Muz and all at Schumacher for making this happen, we are ready to go and will hit the tracks soon!”  Last week the British manufacturer announced the return of Tyler Jones to its 1:1o Offroad program.

Schumacher welcomes back Tyler Jones

Schumacher Racing has announced it is welcoming back US racer Tyler Jones who will campaign the British manufacturers 1:10 buggies in 2024.  Having recently signed with market newcomer Sparko for his 1:8 Offroad program, Jomes has chosen Schumacher as his full 1:10 sponsor so he will be running both the CAT L1R and Cougar LD3.  Commenting on the announcement Jones said, “I’m pumped to be back running Schumacher products in 2024 and beyond! The products are top notch and I’m glad to be able to use the full line up! Big thanks to Muz and all at Schumacher for bringing me back on! Hopefully we’ll see a big rise in interest here in the Midwest!”

New from California based brand R1 Wurks are these Titanium Nitride Coated Titanium Lower Shock Pivot Balls for Team Associated vehicles.  The direct replacement lightweight titanium lower shock pivot balls provide reduced semi-sprung weight, leading to improved traction and grip.  Decreasing the weight of components not directly supported by the vehicle’s suspension system can enhance the vehicle’s capability to retain tire contact with the track surface. 46.67% lighter than steel balls they are machined from high quality Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5 Titanium and finished with a durable Titanium Nitride Coating.

Xray XB4 ’24 4WD Buggy

Xray has officially unveiled its latest 1:10 4WD Buggy, the XB4 ’24.   Key features of the latest kit release from the 2-time World Champions of the category include a redesigned chassis which offers short and long configurations to adjust wheelbase and weight balance to match any track conditions.  Front & Rear LSM arms in Medium composite provide better crash durability and are suitable for all conditions.  The Steering Blocks & C-hubs are also moulded from new medium composite hardness for extra reliability and crash resistance.  The XB4 ’24 gets new rear uprights that provides a lowered roll centre positions to improve stability and reduce suspension collapse in high speed corners.  All-new big bore 13.2mm shock design features new shock bodies, 2.0 and 2.5mm piston choices, shock caps, nuts and shock shafts.  The front shock tower gets wider positions increasing the set-up adjustment range for different track conditions while the rear shock tower with lowered shock positions improves roll characteristics and increases cornering speed.  Available in a Dirt and Carpet edition kit the front and rear differentials on the XB4C use steel satellite gears for improved efficiency and increased lifespan.  Finally a new ‘Lush’ rear wing with significantly increased lifespan improves airflow and maintains chassis attitude over large jumps while improving traction in all conditions.

Cavalieri joins Nova Engines

Italian engine manufacturer Nova Engines has announced that 4-time Offroad World Champion Ryan Cavalieri will race it’s engines for the 2024 season.  The deal means the American’s 1:8 Nitro Offroad programme will have a very Italian feel to it with him having joined WIRC Racing as his 1:8 Offroad chassis sponsor this time last year.  Commenting on the announcement Cavalieri said, ‘Really excited to be joining the Nova Engines family!  Thank you to Mirko and Andrea for this opportunity.’
