SIGP Sunpadow Int’l On-Road GP – Announcement

The 2019 SIGP Sunpadow International RC Car On-Road Grand Prix & Hobbywing Cup Touring Car Open Race will be held at the Chinese Xiamen ARC International Track from the 21st to the 24th of November. Classes run include Touring Modified, Pro Stock and Sport as well as 1/8th IC Track, 1/8th GT and 1/5th scale Electric Motorcycle. Mugen MBX8T dogbone centre driveshafts

Mugen have introduced dogbone centre driveshafts for the MBX8T and MBX8T Eco 1/8th scale truggies. The 88mm front and 161.5mm rear driveshafts are used in combination with the E2260 centre joint cups and they replace the respective universal driveshafts. When used in the front, the dogbone-style driveshaft will improve the steering response while using the dogbone in the rear will increase rear end traction. The parts were used by Mugen’s Ryan Maifield to win this year’s ROAR National Championship and they are available separately.

Tyler Jones doubles at OEOSS Rd5

Round 5 of the OEOSS Series was held at Jax Trax in Union City, Indiana this past weekend. The event attracted over 80 entries and in 1/8th Nitro Buggy it was TLR’s Tyler Jones with the overall TQ and win from Mugen’s Collin Weatherholt on the 2 spot, the latter ending the 20-minute A-main event some 40 second behind the winner. Team Associated’s Matt Cline came in 3rd, another 6.6 seconds down.

Jörn Neumann takes German 2WD Mod Buggy title

The 2019 German 2WD Buggy Nationals were held at the Arena33 in Andernach over the weekend. The event saw 43 entries for the 2WD Modified Buggy class that was top qualified by Marcel Schneider with Jörn Neumann coming in 2nd after the tie-breaker. Tom Maquel ended the qualifiers on the 3 spot from Moritz Lautenbach in 4th. The opening of the three A-main event then again saw Marcel and Jörn on the top 2 spots but it was Jörn who sealed the bag with wins in A2 and A3, leaving behind Marcel Schneider in 2nd while 5th place qualifier, Luca Rau came in 3rd to round out the podium.

Maxima Mx B4S & B4R engines – Coming soon

Maxima Mx have announced the soon release of their new B4S and B4R nitro off-road engines. Available as low profile heatsink “S” and standard heatsink “R” variant, the engines will be based on the latest O.S. Speed power plants for quality and they come built using matched and factory-tuned components. The pre-run engines are available for pre-order now and they will be up for grabs very soon.

Davide Ongaro wins at Italian 1/8th Buggy Nats Rd3

Round 3 of the Italian ACI 1/8th Buggy Championship was held at the Ongaro Ring this past weekend. The event was cut short a day due to the weather forecast and in the end it was Team Associated’s 1/8th Buggy World Champion, Davide Ongaro with the TQ and win in the Expert class, leaving behind Xray’s Marco Baruffolo in 2nd. Kyosho’s Mattia Polito came in 3rd to round out the Expert class podium result.

Elliott Boots crowned 2019 BRCA Rally X champion

The fifth and final round of the BRCA 1/8th Rally X Nationals was held at the Slough track this past weekend. SWorkz’s Elliott Boots was in control of things all weekend, taking the TQ, win and with it the overall championship in style. Infinity’s Lee Martin came in 2nd at the season finale from Team Associated’s Jamie Clancy in 3rd. Overall in the championship and behind Elliott it was Jamie Clancy with the vice-championship from Agama’s Jonathan Skidmore, who suffered clutch issues in the A-main final but with an 11th place he still was able to secure an overall top 3 result.

Exotek EFX2 HD front bulkhead

Coming from Exotek is a 1-piece heavy duty aluminium front bulkhead for the Exotek EFX2 chassis conversion kit. The new design greatly increases the durability of the front of the car by removing the brittle plastic arm mounts and at 12g actually weighs less than the stock components. A simplified single-piece bulkhead design makes for tweak free geometry after race contact and with easier maintenance and assembly when in the pits. The all 7075 aluminium construction comes with a black polished finish and silver chamfered edges for a clean factory racing look.
