Buddy Christian wins at JBRL Nitro Series Rd5

Round 5 of this year’s JBRL Nitro Series was held at Wild West R/C in Winchester, California last weekend. In the Sportsman Buggy class it was Brian Kuskie with the overall TQ after the qualifiers, however the 15-minute main final saw Mugen’s Buddy Christian taking the win a lap in front of TLR’s Eric Lara. Dave Wentz (Kyosho) came in 3rd to round out the podium some 4.5 seconds behind Eric. Top qualifier Brian Kuskie had to settle for 4th overall.

Samix Enduro 8mm brass wheel hex adapters

Samix have announced the release of new 8mm brass wheel hex adapters for the Element RC Enduro trail truck. Machined from high-quality brass material and coming with a black surface coating for corrosion prevention and looks, the 8mm adapters increase the track width of the truck while also adding about 27g of weight for improved climbing performance. The adopters are a direct fit and they come in sets of four.

Kyosho Fazer Mk2 carbon fibre optionals

Kyosho have announced the soon release of new carbon fibre option parts for the Fazer Mk2 FZ02/02L entry-level touring car. The range includes a carbon fibre front bumper support as well as front and rear carbon fibre shock towers. The front bumper support will improve overall stiffness and chassis protection while the rigid shock towers ensure greater suspension efficiency. All parts are cut from high-quality carbon fibre and they include the necessary mounting hardware.

Chris Sharpe-Simkiss wins at NWN Summer Series Rd5

Round 5 of the North West Nitro Summer Championship was held in Weeton, UK last weekend. The 1/8th Buggy A-main final saw SWorkz’s Chris Sharpe-Simkiss walking away with the win, a lap in front of Tekno RC’s Alan Yates, driving an electric buggy, as Ian Slater (Kyosho) came in 3rd another lap down.

GForce 2600mAh Drift Special ACG LiPo battery pack

Coming in September is GForce’s new 2600mAh Drift Special ACG LiPo battery pack. Offering ultra-short 69×46.5×24.5mm dimensions the battery pack allows to adjust the weight bias of drift cars in a very wide range as the battery can be shifted forth and back a lot more than a traditional shorty battery pack. The battery is built from high-quality 60C/110C cells and it utilises 4mm battery connectors.

Indonesia Buggy Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Indonesia Buggy Nationals was held at the Maxspin Track in Maribaya, West Java last weekend. A total of 41 drivers from Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Batam, Gresik, Banjarmasin as well as local drivers attended the event. The race format was six rounds of 10-minutes qualifying with the four best to count. After the six rounds it was Jason Nugroho (Xray/Novarossi) with the overall TQ honours. In the main final however Jason had to settle for 5th overall as he broke a front lower arm in the opening stages of the race, loosing five minutes in the pits to have his car fixed. Up front it was Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/Ninja) who took the win in front of Falla (Mugen/O.S.) in 2nd and John Agus (Kyosho/O.S.) in 3rd place.

Shepherd Velox V8.2 M0.8 spur gears

Shepherd have announced the release of their new 0.8 module spur gears for the Velox V8.2 1/8th on-road kit. They feature a completely re-designed shape for maximum stability and true running while keeping the weight in the same range as the previous gears. The spur gears are available in 60T, 61T and 62T variants for the 1st gear while the 2nd gear is available as 56T, 57T and 58T variants. Furthermore the new spur gears will be included in all future batches of the V8.2 car kits.
