The Force Series Fall Session Rd1 – Report

SS Hobbies and Raceway of Tampa, Floria played host to round one of The Force Series fall session this past weekend. With heavy rains throughout Friday practice and Saturday race day, racing went on without delays as this unique track is covered and protected from mother nature. With 134 entries going into qualifying, racing heated up quickly in expert nitro buggy class as teammates Lee Setser, JR Mitch, and AJ Marasco would qualify top 3 going into the A-main event. The 25-minute main would see plenty of action throughout, but it was Lee Setser that held off a late charge from JR Mitch for the win. JR would finish 2nd and AJ Marasco rounded out the top 3.

Kevin Brunsden wins at SRS Rd5

Round 5 of the Southern Regional Series was hosted by the Southcoast RC track in Dorset last weekend. SWorkz’s Kevin Brunsden took two round TQs for the overall and also came out on top of the 20-minute A-main, a lap and a half in front of young Dylan Saunders (Team Associated) who was able to grab the runner-up spot in the closing stages, taking profit of a mishap of Agama’s Jon Hazlewood who would take 3rd in front of James Clifford.

BRCA Touring Car Nationals Rd4 – Report

The 4th and penultimate round of the BRCA Touring Car Nationals took place this weekend at the crazy fast Cotswolds circuit. In the premier Modified class once again Schumacher’s Olly Jefferies was battling it out with Xray’s Elliott Harper, with Team Associated’s Zak Smith also in the mix this weekend. Elliott took TQ and the win in both legs with Olly a 3rd and a 2nd in the finals giving him 3rd overall tied with Zak Smith.

Pawel Staszewski TQs & wins at Polish On-road Nats

The Polish On-road Nationals were held in Nowy Sacz last weekend in several electric and nitro on-road classes. In Touring Spec 13.5T it was Pawel Staszewski with a clean sweep after the qualifiers, taking all four rounds for the overall TQ and pole position. Jakub Klapacz came in 2nd from Lukasz Mach in 3rd. The finals then again were pretty much smooth sailing for Pawel who took wins in A1 and A2 for an early overall victory while 4th place qualifier, Krystian Kopacki snatched the runner-up spot from Jakub Klapacz who rounded out the top 3 results.

Power HD TR-4 TRX-4 crawler servo

Power HD have announced the release of their Traxxas TRX-4 specific TR-4 waterproof mini servo. The high-voltage compatible servo pulls up to 2.6kg-cm of torque at a speed of down to 0.10s and it features a long 35cm receiver wire and mini-class dimensions of 22.5×12.5×24.0mm to ensure the servo is a direct fit in the TRX-4 crawler. The servo utilises a 25T spline, metal gears and special gaskets make it waterproof for go-everywhere capabilities.

Mayo, Jelin & Drake win at JBRL Nitro Series Rd5

Round 5 of this year’s JBRL Nitro Series was held at the Wild West R/C track in Winchester, California last weekend. The event had nearly 130 entries and attracted some of the region’s fastest nitro off-road racers. In Expert Buggy it was Mugen’s Adam Drake with the overall TQ, but the 15-minute A-main event would see 4th place qualifier Jake Mayo (Xray) taking the win from 8th place qualifier Carlos Arredondo (Tekno RC) in 2nd and TQ Adam Drake in 3rd.

Rhett McNair TQs & wins at RC Pro Series Rd1

Round 1 of the 2019 RC Pro Series was held at 405 RC Raceway in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma last weekend. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class it was Yokomo’s Rhett McNair with the overall TQ from Tekno RC’s Tyler Hooks on the 2 spot. In the finals however it was also Charles Day (Team Associated) who was in the mix as he and Rhett ended tie on points after the double A-main events. When the dust had settled it was Rhett with the overall win thanks to the better tie-breaker as Charles came in 2nd and Tyler had to settle for 3rd overall.

Tamiya TB-05 aluminium centre driveshafts

Coming from Tamiya and made for the shaft-driven TB-05 touring car are two aluminium centre driveshaft kits. First up is a set for front motor converted cars that include 42mm and 90mm centre shafts while the rear motor specific kit includes a single 133mm centre shaft. All are made of high-quality aluminium with the blue anodising improving wear resistance and looks. Included with the driveshafts come steel gearbox input shafts and and all needed hardware. Using the shafts over the original dogbone construction will reduce weight and slop for greatly increased drivetrain efficiency. Both sets will become available by end of September.
