New from Vision Racing is the Mikro Precision C5 line of ceramic bearing sets for the Team Associated B74, Yokomo YZ-4 SF and the Schumacher Cougar Laydown. The ball races increase efficiency, lower motor temps and up RPM, making them perfect for today’s highly competitive stock racing. The ABEC5 spec ball races feature Si3N4 ceramic balls, deep groove stainless steel housings and double metal shields for reduced drag. They come lubricated with high performance synthetic light oil so they are ready for use.

Avid spring-loaded carbon fibre soldering jig

Coming from Avid is a spring-loaded carbon fibre soldering jig for the use with Deans, XT60 and bullet-type connectors. The tool comes pre-assembled and allows to securely hold connectors and wires during soldering, preventing fingers from being burnt. Lower rubber feet make sure the jig stays in place.

Enzo Albertoni wins at Summer Off-road Invitational

The 1st annual Summer Off-road Invitational was held at the Xtreme Race Park track in Puerto Rico last weekend. Jay Drakeford would take the overall TQ in the Nitro Buggy class, however in the 45-minute A-main event it was 3rd place qualifier, Enzo Albertoni with the overall win some 3.1 seconds in front of Jay with whom he had some very entertaining battles throughout the main, unfortunately Jay suffered a blown tyre in the closing stages which hampered his buggy’s performance. Runner-up after the qualifiers, Jose Colon would round out the top 3 result some four laps down.

Yokomo announce YZ-2DTM3 & CAL3 2WD buggy kits

Yokomo have announced the soon release of their latest YZ-2DTM3 dirt spec and YZ-2CAL3 carpet spec 2WD buggy kits. Starting with the DTM3, the kit builds on the IFMAR World Championship winning YZ-2DTM and it features a new shorter main chassis plate, a new bellcrank steering system, new bellcrank steering blocks as well as a 3mm lower rear shock tower. Also included are thinner pistons to go with the shorter shock absorbers, new front and rear 3.0mm outer and 3.5mm inner suspension pins, and the kit utilises a new adjustable shock mounting option for the 3S rear arms. Also part of the package are both LC and LD 3-piece split transmission cases, easy access diff and diff height adjustments, the JConcepts F2 body and wing as well as a front wing and suitable front wing mount.

Kyosho MP10 HD cap driveshafts – Coming soon

Kyosho’s Yuichi Kanai has released first images of the forthcoming new HD cap driveshafts for the MP10 1/8th scale buggy. The CV-style 94mm axle and 82mm and 116mm centre driveshafts are of a special design with red anodised caps ensuring the driveshaft’s cross pins will not coming loose during operation, ensuring greater reliability in long main finals. No word on a release date yet but as the parts look pretty much production ready they should become available very soon.

BRCA Touring Car Nationals Rd3 – Report

The 3rd round of the BRCA Touring Car Series headed to the Monaco of UK tracks, Bedworth this last weekend. In the Modified class Schumacher’s Olly Jefferies lined up on pole on the grid after qualifying ahead of Xray’s Elliott Harper and an excellent Andy Murray (Schumacher). In both legs of the finals Olly managed to sufficiently keep Elliott at bay winning both legs. This secures a back to back victory at this round and the previous one Halifax, leaving Olly in a strong position for the British Championship. Andy maintained his grid position from qualifying to grab a podium, his best touring car national result.

PR Racing machined 2-hole shock pistons

PR Racing have announced the release of new 2-hole shock pistons for their 1/10th scale off-road shock absorbers. Of a 12.65mm diameter the precision-machined pistons are available as 2×1.8mm or 2×2.0mm hole variants, with the smaller holes being used up front while the 2.0mm pistons are used in the rear. Using the pistons will improve bump handling and jump landing especially on outdoor tracks and the pistons come in four-piece sets of each size.
