SMJ short spring alloy collars

SMJ short spring alloy collars

Available now from Speedmaster Japan are alloy collars for the use of short springs on standard length touring car shock absorbers. The collars allow the use of 20mm springs on shock absorbers that normally utilise standard 25mm springs as they bridge the gap between the preload nut and the spring that occurs when using short-type springs. The collars also save time in the pits as changing spring configurations is now much easier without having to readjust the preload nut every time you swap between long and short springs. The collars are made from high-quality aluminium, they come black or blue anodised and are usable with all shocks of up to 13mm diameter and all springs of 14mm inner diameter or more.

Team Associated RC10TC7 FT touring car

Team Associated have release their next generation of 1:10 scale 4WD electric touring car, the RC10TC7 FT, the prototype of which swept the podium at the 2015 ROAR Paved On-Road Nationals. Coming packed full of Factory Team options and a refined suspension package with precise adjustments, the result is an unequalled level of consistency. The focus was on a more precise feel with updates in suspension component composites and ultra-smooth FOX shocks with Genuine Kashima Coat. The floating servo controls an updated dual bellcrank steering system with a low centre of gravity and refined Ackermann range, which allows the most direct steering feeling for any track condition. The updated motor mount is centrally located to produce the most consistent chassis flex to help keep cornering predictable while accurate gear alignment provides high efficiency, acceleration and top speed.

Marc Fischer wins at Longwy Winter Series

Marc Fischer wins at Longwy Winter Series

The recent second round of the MRCL Longwy Winter Series saw Marc Fischer laying down a dominant performance in the Touring Modified class. Being the only driver to score a sub-12 seconds lap during Saturday’s practice Marc would grab the overall TQ after the qualifiers. The opening A-main then saw Marc taking a relatively easy win but the German had scored a DNF in A2 due to a broken tyre. In the decisive third A-main the Serpent driver again was able to open a gap on the field and he went on to win the leg with the only 26 laps run of the weekend. Loic Jasmin (Yokomo) finished the day on the runner-up spot while Julian Borowski (Serpent) rounded out the top 3 result.

Ronald Völker wins at Charity Race 2015

Last weekend’s annual Charity Race, organised by the Team La Gang and hosted by the RC Landia facility in Scandiano, Italy, not only saw the running of a competitive Touring Stock class but the race also attracted some of Europe’s fastest Touring Car Modified racers. Yokomo’s Ronald Völker and Tamiya’s Marc Rheinard would battle for the TQ and while Marc took round TQs in Q1 and Q2, Ronald stroke back in Q3 and Q4 with the two ending tie on points but the better tie-breaker, Ronald only finished in 3rd in Q2, handed Marc the pole position for the triple A-mains. In the opening main Ronald came out fastest one lap ahead of Yannic Prümper (Yokomo) while Marc ended the race in third only 1.2 tenth of a second shy of Yannic. A2 had the top 3 drivers upping their game as Marc, Ronald and Yannic ended the race within 7 tenth of a second. The third and decisive A-main again ended super close with Ronald and Marc separating only 0.6 seconds on the finish line, meaning Ronald would take the overall win from Marc and Yannic. Victor Wilck and Marcel Geiger completed the top 5 result.
