Nico & Florian Schmid win at Offroad Masters Rd3

Round 3 of the Offroad Masters series was held in Islikon, Switzerland recently. In the 2WD Buggy class it was Xray’s Nico Schmid with the win from Xray teammate, Kay Frehner. Schumacher’s Elias Ehrmann came in 3rd to round out the podium. Over in the 4WD Mod Buggy class it was Florian Schmid (Xray) with the win from Kay Frehner (Xray) while Elias Ehrmann snatched another podium result in 3rd.

Clarel, Casseem & Chinnayya win at Mauritian Champs

The second round of the Mauritian On-road Championships were held last weekend. In the 10.5T Touring class it was Lacour Clarel with the win from Jovanni Appasamy in 2nd and Emrith Shelesh in 3rd. Over in the 1/8th BL Open class Mosheen Casseem came out on top and in front of Danen Conjamalay and Jovanni Appasamy in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Finally in the 1/8th BL Promo category it was Nikheale Chinnayya from Neale Chinnayya in 2nd and Matteo Maka in 3rd.

Kevin Nielsen takes Danish TC Stock title

The final round of the Danish DRCMU series was held in Randers this past weekend. Held in several electric on-road classes it was the Xray duo of Patrick Folman and Kevin Nielsen who battled it out in the Touring Stock class. Patrick would take the overall TQ with Kevin sitting in 2nd and with Patrick coming out on top in A1 and A3 while Kevin won A2, it was Patrick with the day’s win from Kevin on the 2 spot. Young Casper Lund (Xray) would round out the top 3 after achieving his first podium result. Overall in the Championship it was Kevin Nielsen with the title thanks to five TQ spots and wins as and two 2nd place finishes over the season.

Borkowicz & Setser win at Super Cup Series Rd4

Round 4 of the Super Cup Championship Series headed south to Mills Pond RC Speedway in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. A fresh layout was laid out a couple weeks prior and with a few final touches during the week leading up to Race 4, all the time and hard work paid off. The weather was also perfect and with 116 entries it was going to be a great day of racing. A few computer glitches slowed things down a bit but everyone seemed to still have a great day hanging out at the track. Racing-wise and in the 2WD Mod Buggy class it was Daimon Borkowicz with the win from Lee Setser and Paul Wynn.

2019 April Fools’ Race – Report

The 1st edition of the April Fools’ Race was held last weekend in the capital of Brunei Darussalam, attracting local drivers as well as entries from Malaysia and Vietnam. The race format was four qualifying heats with best three out of four to count. Local driver Brian Lim would dominate the qualifying by TQ’ing the first three rounds and sitting out the final qualifier to prepare his car for the finals. In the 45-minutes final, Brian would lead in the opening stages before a faulty receiver pack dropped him to 3rd and David Lim from Vietnam would be promoted into the lead, battling with Foo from Malaysia for the next ten to 15 minutes. Foo would take the lead with 20 minutes to go and he would go on to win by a lap from Brian Lim in 2nd with David Lim taking 3rd.

Arrowmax IF14 Arrowspace magnesium chassis

The latest addition to Arrowmax’s Arrowspace series of magnesium main chassis plates are extra flex and stiff variants for the Infinity IF14 touring car. About 40 percent lighter and offering greater noise-reducing capabilities than standard aluminium, the chassis also make for different flex characteristics with the extra flex and stiff variant allowing for even greater control over the overall chassis flex. Both chassis feature a white ceramic coating for longer lasting performance.

Mugen MBX8T carbon fibre shock towers

Mugen have introduced new front and rear carbon fibre shock towers for the MBX8T nitro and MBX8T Eco E-truggy kits. Machined from high-quality material the shock stays are a replacement for the standard aluminium towers, helping to reduce overall weight for an overall lower centre of gravity and thus quicker cornering on high-grip tracks while offering different flex characteristics which can help in a variety of track conditions.
