2019 Force Series Rd2 – Report

Last weekend the 2019 Force Series was back at it attracting over 180 entries for a single day of 1/8th nitro and electric racing. Round 2 was hosted at Triple Nickel Raceway in Bartow, Florida and it couldn’t have been a better weekend of racing. The weather was perfect and the track was spectacular. The very unique and traditional Florida red clay made for awesome grip and even better battles on the track. It was a great showing for Team Associated’s Jackson Brunson in the premier Expert Nitro Buggy class. After coming off a good weekend of learning from the DNC, Jackson used his newfound experience and knowledge and put it to the test here at round 2 of the Force Series. The hard work has definitely paid off as Jackson qualified 3rd and moved into the race lead early to hold off a hard-charging Justin Fales of team Serpent. The finishing order was Jackson taking 1st, Serpent’s Justin Fales 2nd and TLR’s JR Mitch rounding out the top 3.

JConcepts S2 & F2 TLR 22 5.0 body shells

JConcepts have updated their popular S2 and F2 design body shells to now fit the TLR 22 5.0 buggy. Slammed overall height allows the S2 to whisk through the turns with a low centre of mass while the progressive cab design provides plenty of front-end force for superior balance and steering. A channeled roof directs the flow through the centre of the body while also increasing the rigidity of cockpit. The dual side-window design that has become famous on the JConcepts bodies remains to bring a traditional feel to the layout. The upper side-pods feature distinct vents used to help relieve hot air build-up inside the body for those high-powered runs or hot days at the track. Carved and detailed side-pods edge the body giving the highly aero unit a stylish look with a tight fit and finish. Cut-lines are included on the body to accommodate stand-up and lay-down transmission layouts giving all out versatility.

Schaffner B6 series waterfall fan mount

Schaffner Racing Products have introduced a new waterfall fan mount for Team Associated B6 and B6.1 based vehicles. The 3-D-printed part was developed for stand-up transmission setups and it ensures improved motor cooling for less performance fading towards the end of a run. When using the mount, most LCG battery packs will fit to the furthest back position, however standard size shorty packs will move back to just one hole position forward, giving owners nearly full adjustability with most battery packs. The fan mount is usable for B6, B6.1, T6.1, and SC6.1 kits and it is also available in a variant for laydown and layback gearboxes.
