Xavier Deparde wins at SITCC Rd3

The SITCC season finale was hosted by the ERMC club and held in Grand-Saconnex, Switzerland, attracting a good amount of entries. In the Touring Car class the overall TQ was decided in the final qualifiers when the track was at its fastest. Ultimately it was Xavier Deparde (Xray) with the pole position for the four A-mains. In the opening A-main the top qualifier would be able to get a gap on the field, however towards the end of the run Kevin Zwahlen (HB Racing) was able to close in on Xavier and the two would eventually run door to door for half a lap until Kevin managed to bring home the win. A2 then saw Xavier taking a pretty easy win, a couple of seconds in front of Kevin. A3 was again a pretty tight affair. Kevin and Xavier would pull a gap but it was Xavier who would bring home the win by 1.5 seconds. In the fourth and final A-main again the top 2 would open a gap on the field but Kevin went into an error, meaning Xavier would be able to cruise to the win with Kevin coming in 2nd overall as Cedric Ansermoz (Awesomatix) rounded out the overall top 3.

JConcepts foam adhesive body washers

Coming from JConcepts is a 12-piece set of foam washers for 1/10th scale body shells. They help protecting the area where initial damage starts to occur which is right around the body mount holes. The die-cut foam donut is adhesive backed to attach itself to the body and the foam cushions the landings from there. The soft but high-impact material allows some flexibility between the body and the setting distance to the mount protecting the paint from the inside out.

Craig Collinson wins at Schumacher Master Series Rd6

Last weekend was the sixth round of the ever popular Schumacher Masters Series held at Worksop Raceway. With over 150 entries the competition was as tough as always. Xray’s Craig Collinson started the day with intent taking 4WD TQ in round 1 of qualifying, ahead of world class driver Neil Cragg (Team Associated). The next three qualifying rounds would see Neil top round 2 with Craig 2nd, Craig top round 3 with fellow team mate Dom Nunn 2nd and in round 4 Dom put in a storming run to take the round ahead of Craig. This meant Craig would take overall TQ with Xray driver Dom Nunn 2nd and in the 3rd spot would be Neil Cragg. In the final Craig got off to a clean start with Dom and Neil in hot pursuit. Unfortunately Dom made an early error allowing Neil to take the 2nd spot and young Schumacher driver Josh Holdsworth 3rd. Craig drove a faultless five minute final keeping his buggy on the racing line at all times, not allowing an opportunity for Josh or Neil to make a pass. In the end Craig took the win just in front of Josh and Neil.
