Redcat Gen8 P-A-C-K pre-assembled chassis kit

Redcat Racing have introduced the new Gen8 P-A-C-K pre-assembled chassis kit for those who want to run the Gen8 chassis with their own choice of electronics, wheels, tires, and body. The Gen8 PACK already includes many of the features custom builders look for, and is ready to be transformed into a high performance, one of a kind, custom rig. The Gen8 PACK uses the same chassis as the Gen8 International Scout II RTR vehicle and it also shares the same stock chassis components such as C-channel frame rails, low centre of gravity battery tray, centrally mounted divorced transfer case, lockable slipper clutch, portal axles with metal gear covers, MOD-1 gears, machined aluminium spools, front CVAs, 32 rubber-sealed ball bearings, threaded aluminium shocks, 47 degree steering blocks with proper Ackerman, Panhard bar, LED-ready bumpers, winch-ready front bumper, and frame mounted floor pans. The Gen8 uses portal axles with 47 degree of steering to help the vehicle manoeuvre in tight spaces.

Awesomatix roll out new A800 optionals

Coming from Awesomatix are three new option parts for the A800 series of touring cars. First up is the C01B-XAH2LA 2.0mm aluminium chassis that offers additional holes for the +8mm and +9mm arms. Machined from high-quality 7075-T6 material the chassis also sports updated cutouts to offer increased response and a better steering feeling while upping higher corner speeds at the same time. Next up are the AM19-2US mounts that offer the exact same geometry as the AM19-2 parts. However they are machined from 3mm 7075-T6 alloy, meaning they are 0.5mm thicker than the AM19-2. To keep the same roll centre settings, owners need to run 0.5mm thinner shims under ST24 ball studs. Last but not least come the AM06WL-US uprights. They mimic the AM06WL parts but lack the flex cut out, making them more durable. Generally with all of the new “US” parts, these are recommended for the use on US-style tracks with hard boards and barriers as they add a bit of durability on the expense of a slightly higher weight.

The receiver was track-tested over several month at national and international events, including high-class races such as the EOS, and it fully supports Sanwa’s SHR and SSR technologies, offering the same features and super-fast signal transmission as the original Sanwa receivers, making them a full-fledged replacement. The compact “antenna-less” receiver measures 23.6×18.6×28.3mm, it weighs in at 7g and it comes in a heavy-duty case that offers improved durability compared to standard Sanwa receivers.

Redcat Gen7 portal axle kit

German Redcat distributor Absima has introduced a new Gen7 portal axle kit. The set is designed for the Everest Gen7 and features the same portal axles that are installed in the Redcat Gen8 Scout II scale crawler, but includes all the parts needed to easily install portal axles on the Gen7 Sport or Pro vehicles. This kit includes the front and rear portal axle, along with a moulded plastic plate so owners can mount the servo to the Gen7 chassis. The axles utilise Mod 1 steel gears, metal hex hubs and metal gear covers for durability as well as a CNC machined aluminium spool. The kit also includes a slipper clutch upgrade, with gearing change, intended for the Everest Gen7. Because of the additional gear reduction present in the portal axles, without a gearing change, the Everest Gen7’s top speed will be reduced by about 50 percent. This slipper clutch system features a lockout system, for those who decide they don’t want the possibility of their drivetrain slipping, but still want the gearing change.
