Sielaff wins at North German IC Track Regionals Rd2

The second round of the North German Nitro On-road Regionals was held in Hildesheim this past weekend. In the 1/10th 200mm Touring class Rico Kröber (Capricorn) took the TQ after the qualifiers in front of Lars Hoppe (Shepherd) and Kristof Sielaff (KM). In the 30 minute final Lars Hoppe took the win from Kristof Sielaff and Bernd Hasselbring but due to Lars’ car not complying with the technical regulations he got disqualified which handed Kristof the day’s win. Bernd gained the runner-up spot while TQ Rico Kröber rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Toykar Futaba OS Jakarta Open – Announcement

The 2015 Toykar Futaba OS Jakarta Open will be held on the Jakarta International Twin Circuit, Indonesia on June 6th to 7th in the two classes of 1/8th Nitro On-road and 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring. The annual event each year attracts both experienced drivers and entry-level racers alike with the latter being highly encouraged to take part at the event that always offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. VBC touring car body height adjusters

VBC Racing have a set of body height adjusters for the Wildfire touring car available. Made from 7075 aluminium and coming red anodised the parts are made to allow for step-less bodyshell height adjustments using knurled nuts that rest on threaded mounting tubes. Included are four threaded alloy tubes, four adjustments nuts, rubber O-rings and mounting hardware.

EFRA 200mm Euros Warm-up race – Announcement

The warm-up race for the 2015 EFRA 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring Car European Championships A & B will be held on the 4th and 5th of July at the impressive EFMOD facility in Izmir, Turkey. Run on a repaved 430 metre track with a 70 metre straight the event will also see the running of the second round of the Turkish On-road Nationals. More information can be found here and here.

Arrowmax Centax clutch spring adjustment tool

Arrowmax have a new addition to their range of Honeycomb tools available in the form of a Centax clutch spring adjustment tool. It allows to easily attach and detach the clutch spring preload collar and it also comes in handy when adjusting the bite point of the clutch. As all Honeycomb series tools the clutch adjustment tool makes use of a lightweight aluminium handle with large milled-out sections and it comes gun metal anodised and laser-etched.

Alberto Alonso wins 1/8th class at Spanish Nats Rd2

During last weekend’s 2nd round of the Spanish Nitro On-road Nationals Alberto Alonso took the win in the 45 minute final of the 1/8th scale class. Starting from 6th on the grid Alberto took over the lead in lap 59 and due to different fuel stop strategies the positions changed a few times between Alberto and Sergio Montesinos but Alberto kept the lead in the final portion of the race and ultimately took the win, scoring important points for the overall national ranking in which he now sits in 1st place. The podium was completed by David Castellano and Sergio Rivas in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Losi 1/14th Mini Rally 4WD RTR

Horizon Hobby have introduced the new Losi 1/14th scale Mini Rally 4WD RTR kit. Based on the Mini 8ight platform the car features a shaft drivetrain, long travel suspension and a 4500kv brushless motor and 2S LiPo-compatible speed controller for true rallycross performance on a variety of surfaces. Rally-inspired wheels and tyres as well as a rally bodyshell make for a cool appearance while the included Dynamite 7.2V 1200mAh NiMH battery and a suitable charger allow you to hit the track instantly.

Tamiya news at the Shizuoka Hobby Show

Tamiyablog have released first images of forthcoming Tamiya kits on show at this week’s Shizuoka Hobby Show. First up is of course the new TRF211XM 1/10th 2WD mid-motor buggy. By the look of things the buggy makes use of the proven TRF201 front and rear end as well as the 201’s gearbox with the chassis being made using a new composite material that combines the stiffness of an alloy chassis with the light weight of composite plastic for improved on-track performance. We do not have any information if the white colour chassis will make it into the kit or if the buggy will come with a dark colour one, once the hype about the new chassis material has settled a bit.
